IRON STAFF PRIME builds

INTRO

This build is part of a 4 set build to maximize survivability and damage of Wukong's Primal Fury. It can easily deal upwards of 200-500k damage with 3x+ combo streaks while surviving for 2 hours any high level endless. If a teammate is using melee guidance or swift momentum, even better but don't count on those trash auras. Corrosive Projection is what the other three should be running.

3.0 changes

Parry angle from 45 to 65. New Heavy attacks. Max range with full combo meter and primed reach reduced from 12m to 6.7m. (god damnit DE).

Deconstructor Prime entire purpose is to provide the Gladiator Set buff, which boosts critical chance per set mod, per combo built. You will not gain the actual mod bonuses (like the +6s combo duration). But you will use drifting contact on the Iron Staff Prime build to give yourself 13 seconds of combo duration. This is the only melee sentinel weapon to do this with. It also heals Helios which means you can do longer missions and keep your little buddy alive.

Helios Prime Survivalist build is to maximize the HP/Armor/Regen so you can do longer missions without the sentinel dying too many times. Helios Prime is not the tankiest sentinel but it can generally survive 1.5 hours before it has died 4 times as long as you manage it properly.

Iron Staff CO + Reach build is to give you a nice balance between range and damage, while gaining massive crit from Primal Rage and Gladiator set. Unfortunately you cannot put Bloodrush or Maiming Strike on it.

GUIDE START


You can get 100-200k yellow crits with certain moves very early in the combo build up at 2x.

Remember, Iron Staff Prime is using the augment with Primal Fury ability. The higher your combo meter is, the longer REACH it has. It also has a base reach comparable to the best Polearms. With Primed Reach, you can essentially hit at 10-13m away which is comparable to whip range with 3x combo (old). With melee 3.0, this is stealth nerfed and not documented in the patch notes. Even though you can get a 12x combo, your max range is now about 6.7m at 12x combo. Pretty lame of DE huh? Not even telling us in the patch notes about this. In fact all longer reach weapons were nerfed due to reach change, and all short ranged weapons got buffed.

Also, read below for use on exodia to help reach that combo faster and arcanes to further improve DAMAGE and ATTACK SPEED.

Condition Overload here allows you to use CO weapons like Hikou Prime or Mara Detron or Redeemer Prime or Tysis or Exergis (the last two proc viral + 5 effects, for 6 total) meaning you can get 6-8-9 status effects if you prep the target, thats 360%-540% extra damage on top of your primed pressure point. Without a CO prep, you still get 180% extra damage, which is equivalent to two 90% mods.

Drifting Contact provides the combo duration you need with the rest of the gladiator build and the Primal Rage. Remember the +6s from the gladiator set doesn't apply so you're only getting 13s of combo duration total. Sucks but blame DE.

Berserker will proc all the time with a 25% crit chance and its needed for attack speed.

Shocking Touch is there only to add extra damage.

Drifting Contact?

If you are using Narumon focus tree so you naturally decay only 5 combo every 5 seconds, you do not need Drifting Contact. The extra status isn't super important (30% natural status is plenty for armor strip due to how fast you attack).

Replace this with: True Steel (your total crit will start at 55% and with full 12x combo it will be at 192.5%, so almost always orange crits. If you can fit sacrificial steel with a tier 3 berserk, you can fit sacrifical steel which will marginally boost the max crit to 217.5%). Without any of these, this build naturally starts at 25% and maxes at 162.5%. So the boost is decent.

Alternatively you can also go with attack speed. Adding regular Fury or Primed Fury will significantly boost attackspeed by a flat 30-55%. This actually adds more damage than the extra 30% crit because of the stance attacks you'll use animating faster.

Arcanes?

Arcane Strike - 10% chance for 40% attack speed 12s
Arcane Fury - on crit 40% chance for 120% melee damage for 12s. Note this stacks additionally not multiplicatively so it won't magically double your damage. Still though, Wukong technically doesn't need Arcane Grace or Arcane Guardian.

Exodia from Stat Stick?

Exodia Triumph - 50% chance to gain 1 extra combo counter on hit. This allows you to generate 50% more combo meter which means you'll reach maximum range faster which helps tons when slide attacking.

Exodia Hunt - 50% chance for 12m pull into yourself is not bad at all. Just ground spam fast twice and voila. But again, since you can hit 12m around you with 12x combo meter, you sorta kill things before this is even usable.

Exodia Valor - 2x combo count on lifted enemies is great...if you could also use Exodia Epidemic to lift them, or use a subpar frame to do the same. Why settle for a niche case when Triump is best?

Exodia Force - 50% on status effect to deal 200% damage around you in a 6m range. Smallish AOE and 200% isn't great, but it happens all the time. Unfortunately you'll be killing shit fast enough this usually doesn't matter.

Exodia Brave - +5 energy for 4 seconds, stacks up to 3 times. 60 free energy on heavy attack isn't bad if you arent running Zennrik and need a free source of regen. Still though, with energy pads or zennurik, Triump is better for general use.
