Xoris

Pizza Cutter Supreme

by last updated 2 years ago

460

An obscure glaive weapon of Corpus provenance, intrinsically linked to Specter technology. The Xoris strikes rapidly and with great devastation. It is capable of chaining combos infinitely.

Pizza Cutter Supreme

The Pizza Cutter Supreme.

It isn't really meant to cut but more to explode the enemys. This is my alternative build to most others that use [Volatile Rebound] to max out on critical chance with the combo counter.

Sure it completly ignores the inate infinite combo duration of the [Xoris] but it is not that big of a deal.
Why use [Xoris] for this kind of build? To be honest i don't know there are probably other glaives who use that build better, but so far i haven't found one that slaps as good as the [Xoris].
It also makes a slaugther house from the granum Void

Mods

First things first. All white mods can be replaced by their standard counterpart. Less damage but more affordable and gives a good glimpse what it is capable of.

Now lets look at the mods!

  • Primed Fever Strike / Shocking Touch - [Xoris] has inate electricity damage on its heavy attack. You can either go for Radiation or Corrosive. We do the latter because of PRIMED Fever Strike.
  • Steel and Pressure - As said can be replaced with their basic counterparts until you got the Forma Requirements. I would recommend using a Umbra Forma to get a more flexible flexibility slot.
  • Killing Blow - We'll do heavy attacks all the time so big damage boost and the increased wind up speed is also nice.
  • Amalgam Organ Shatter - Flexibility Slot. If you don't mind a slower wind up speed you can replace it with more elemental damage, Organ Shatter itself or anything else.
  • Power Throw - This not only triples the damage it makes the Xoris fun and challenging! I will explain it later for Usage
  • Volatile Quick Return - It isnt as big of a game changer as [Volatile Rebound] because it only does one bouncesplosion, but the increased explosion radius also applies to the heavy attack kboom.

Frame

Any Frame that buffs the [Xoris] in any way will do. I used [Inaros] with Roar most of the Time because of its tankiness. Since Steelpath i'm switching around a lot. Still need to test [Mirage].

Secondary

Anything that pops shield and ice bubbles because [Xoris] only deals its impact damage to them the explosions do nothing.

How to use

This is the challenging part. Sure it easily works if you find a nice camping spot, set up your tent grill some marshmallows and maybe even use a throw makro but lets pretend you want to run around.
The chain is as follows:
Throw the [Xoris] by holding melee, wait for it to be at the desired position, hit heavy attack to explode it hold melee again to catch and rethrow it. Repeat.

If you catch the [Xoris] and rethrow, [Power Throw] adds +100% damage for each consecutive throw up to +300%.
This combined with the fact that the explosions knock you back can make it really challenging but fun.

The best result is if you throw it directly at an enemy or an object close to it so that VQR does its bounce explosions and immediatly after that hit heavy attack so you get double explosions. Direct hit on an enemy for the small added impact damage (not the damage type the actual impact on the enemy).

It is useless against Shield and Ice bubbles so i'd recommend a good secondary, that can deal with such things.

Combine it with things like Roar or the occational crit buff of smeeta kavats and the damage numbers can get ridiulous. I'd also recommend using armor stripping auras and knock back resistance mods.
