An obscure glaive weapon of Corpus provenance, intrinsically linked to Specter technology. The Xoris strikes rapidly and with great devastation. It is capable of chaining combos infinitely.

Xoris 2.0 - The new S tier melee - Volatile Rebound - Steel Path Approved - The New War

The Xoris upon release was the best convenient stat stick available to all warframes that used pseudo-exalted weapons ([Khora], [Atlas], etc.) as it allowed for infinite combo duration thus enabling players to not worry about maintaining 12x combo for pseudo-exalted weapon damage. DE nerfed this shortly after release to expel all combo upon the use of a pseudo-exalted ability (Whipclaw, Landslide, etc.) After which the [Xoris] sadly passed into the realm of most weapons, i.e. MR fodder.

Then [Volatile Rebound] was released.

Welcome to the [Xoris] 2.0, your new convenient kills everything (steel path included) weapon of choice.

[Volatile Rebound] quiet literally bumped all Glaives from F tier weapons, to S tier weapons. The way it works is that each time you throw your [Glaive] and it bounces off an enemy, it explodes dealing AoE damage roughly equal to 50% of what a thrown heavy attack would deal. In addition, none of these explosions will consume combo, meaning simply charging and throwing your glaive into a horde of enemies will cause a chain reaction of explosions, with each AoE explosion dealing 15-20k orange crits with the build I've provided above. This isn't calculated in Overframe's damage calculator probably because calculating the damage capability of [Volatile Rebound] is dependent on numerous factors. Never the less let's talk about the mods this build uses and why.

Primed Pressure Point/Pressure Point - Either through design or by accident, Condition Overload does NOT work with any Glaive using Volatile Rebound or Volatile Quick-Return (I have tested this extensively!) [Condition Overload] will add ZERO damage. [Primed Pressure Point] however, will add damage to both the [Glaive], and the AoE explosions each time it bounces, thus making it our defacto damage adding mod. If you don't own Primed Pressure Point, regular Pressure Point will work fine, it'll just add less melee damage.

Blood Rush - I've seen a stupid amount of hearsay about how [Blood Rush] interacts with Glaives. Let me set the record straight after having tested it extensively. Blood Rush works as intended, and it also affects the AoE explosions of both Volatile Rebound and Volatile Quick-Return. So we use it.

Amalgam Organ Shatter - Why you ask? Because the heavy attack wind up speed it provides increase how quickly you're able to charge and then throw your [Glaive]. The aura mod [Swift Momentum] is great in conjunction with Amalgam Organ Shatter, as it further reduces heavy attack wind up speed.

Sacrificial Steel/Elemental Mod - In conjunction with [Blood Rush], it raises the overall crit chance at x12 combo to 196.1% enabling all orange crits. It's just slightly better than [Gladiator Might]. If your [Sacrificial Steel] isn't maxed out, I recommend using a 90% elemental mod until it is, True Steel is not an acceptable replacement.

Primed Fever Strike/Fever Strike - The Xoris deals innate Electricity damage upon throw/charged throw, both of which also apply to the explosions. Electricity is a terrible damage type so we change into corrosive by introducing [Primed Fever Strike]. If you don't own Primed Fever Strike, the regular Fever Strike will work, it'll just add less elemental damage.

Killing Blow or Riven OR Voltaic/Shocking - So, with the Sisters of Parvos and glaive wind up speed nerfs, it's now actually needed to throw on Killing blow to reduce wind up down to pre-nerf wind up speed. The damage loss from not using [Voltaic Strike] or [Shocking Touch] hurts, but not nearly as badly as a loss in throw speed. If you really dont mind the throw speed nerf however, you can continue to use either [Shocking Touch] or Voltaic Strike. A Riven would be preferred to either however ideally atk spd, crit chance, crit damage.

Power Throw - This beefs our damage to ridiculous levels (+100% damage each stack) for each consecutive throw (throws stack within a 1 second window after the [Glaive] flies back to you) and adds a hidden +60% projectile speed to the [Glaive] throw. Additionally, [Volatile Rebound] disables the added punch through this mod gives, so no worries about your glaive flying off into the distance hitting only one target.

Volatile Rebound - The key to our build. Why do we use it over Volatile Quick-Return? Because Volatile Quick-Return only deals one explosion in a larger radius (and it is the same damage an individual explosion of [Volatile Rebound] deals!) [Volatile Rebound] deals smaller, but many, many, many more explosions and therefore enormous damage in a much larger bounce induced AoE with smaller AoEs.

The mechanics of [Volatile Rebound] are extremely complex, but offer a very straight forward pay off with the correct build. It's as simple as charge, and throw (don't heavy attack!) your [Glaive] at a group of enemies, and delight in ever increasing stupid damage you deal as your combo goes up to x12 and never drops off due to the [Xoris]'s innate infinite combo duration! This build demolishes even steel path enemies with ease and is laughably overpowered against anything the star chart can throw at you.

Enjoy Tenno!
