Profit Taker Chroma at its finest

A Profit Taker (PT from now on) [Chroma] build that I personally use and prefer for solo runs.
28 forma is used in total for all of the equipment, and is focused on making the fight as easy as possible.
Some of the buids can be done with less forma and achieve similar or even better performance in certain cases.

A couple of useful notes:

  • Primed Sure Footed can be replaced by other knockdown mitigating mods. My recommendation is Handspring
  • Arcane Nullifier is there so the HUD is not broken on repetitive PT hunts, and energy shouldn't be a problem either during the fight
  • Hunter Adrenaline or Rage both works well, it's up to you which one you are going to use for energy regeneration
  • Adding an Umbral Forma to this build for Umbral Vitality is NOT worth (I tried it, and it was a waste of Umbra Forma, can't feel a difference at all)
  • Arcane Avenger can be changed to something that you like more. In my own build, I'm using the Kuva Nukor, which desperately needs Critical chance, and this is my go-to choice for criticals
  • Gloom is not mandatory, I chose it simply because energy is not a problem, and with Gloom HP won't be a problem either. Dispensary or Blood Altar is also a good choice, I use it mainly when I'm in a group. Some use [Titania]'s Spellbind(1). This one gives status immunity, so [Primed Sure Footed] is redundant, as well as Arcane Nullifier. This automatically asks for some sort of HP regeneration, namely in form of Arcane Grace or some sort of Operator arcanes, namely: Magus Repair or Magus Elevate, or Vazarin school's Protective Sling. Since I'm not using [Adaptation], (because the damage I inflict will heal me with the help of Gloom) you should take into consideration how much damage is received, and if Arcane Grace can outheal that. In terms of pricing, [Primed Sure Footed] is a Daily reward. The last option would be to use Elemental Ward (2) to get HP back. Every time you cast this ability you gain a max HP boost, and the HP at the same time, which can be used as a healing mechanic. The only problem with this is that you cannot recast it, unless its duration expires

The way I fight PT using this build:

  • When I get into the Orb Vallis, first thing I used do is get out, and drop 1 Energy pad (this 1 pad is enough for the whole fight for me, except when I'm braindead and not paying attention). After second energy pulse, I was on full energy and I entered Archwing. Now I'm using 2 Amber Archon Shard with Maximum Energy is filled on Spawn so I don't have to use energy pads.
  • I use Madurai school's Sling Strength to activate the 40% ability strength buff, then use the Archwing
  • Fly close to PT, mid-air use melee to get out of Archwing, aim-glide, and then cast Vex Armor (3), this is important, since your shield will be gone in no time, so you get the armor buff as soon as you land
  • After you land, you can cast Gloom (1) and Elemental Ward (2) in whatever order you want, (I prefer 1, then 2, since anything that jumps at you won't hit right away, and have some time at the beginning to dodge or simply kill them)
  • One thing I always do after landing with melee is to switch to primary and look down, so I don't block any of the shots. This will mean that Vex Armor buff will be set both armor and damage-wise, without the Melee blocking mechanic interference
  • After this the fight begins (if you don't know how the fight goes, please visit the wiki or watch a Youtube video or two about the fight process)
  • When I'm done with PT, the reward pops up, and PT usually hits the ground once. Standing at her back side, the uppermost part of her left leg serves as a waypoint where loot is dropped. Place Effigy right at this point, since all the loot will be dropped here, including credits. After the loot is collected, jump or bulletjump, and use Archwing. You will mount the Archwing while moving, and you will see Chroma in his animation, where Effigy returns into Chroma (this saves 1-2 seconds per run, just so you know)
