Catchmoon (Secondary) - Hemorrhage Optimization

This build is optimized around using Hemorrhage to its maximum potential. There are a number of wierd decisions in this build as a result.

Haymaker and Splat

  • The weapon has a guaranteed impact proc and [Hemorrhage] can only trigger once per damage instance. As such, we don't care about status chance, we just want more critical chance to increase slash true damage, so we choose Splat
  • Accounting for their base damage along with fire rate and its interaction with Hemorrhage, Haymaker and Lovetap are the best two options.

Slash Damage

  • Does not scale off elemental mods (Heat, Cold, Etc) or physical element mods (slash, impact, etc)
  • Does scale off of damage mods, critical hits and critical multiplier. Fire Rate indirectly increases it by increasing the number of slash procs you put out.
  • This means its optimal to pick some mods that might be better for the normal dps but worse for true damage dps

This turn into roughly 42.6k true damage within 1 second, stacking progressively higher after that. This is useful for a few reasons.

  1. First, many companions weapon or abilities can apply viral status ailments for you (example: Helstrum or Panzer Vulpaphyla). So applying viral with this weapon isn't as essential.
  2. Second, quite a few infested enemies ignore viral status, wasting the effect and mod slots.
  3. Third, it stacks incredibly quickly, killing even tanky enemies far quicker than other weapons could hope.
