Harrow: Ensnare/Resonator/Silence - Mecha Crowd Control

If you like this build, give it a 👍 to help out!

Harrow Gameplay Guide

[Harrow] is a hybrid support who grants various offensive, defensive, and utility buffs to himself and his allies. He excels at covering weaknesses seen in weapons with low critical chance, fire rate, or reload speed while also helping allied Warframes who struggle with their energy economy or survivability. These tools are balanced by gimmicks that hinder their effectiveness like needing to headshot enemies or having to sacrifice his shields.

📝 Build Overview 📝

[Harrow] has strong buffs but they lack the offensive potential other frames bring to the table. This build focuses on crowd control and the Mecha set mods to grant [Harrow] two things his kit doesn't natively have access to outside of Helminth abilities.

Mecha set mods require a status effect heavy loadout and a Kubrow with Mecha mods equipped so this build may have drastically different results if you choose not to use either of those tools.

🔢 Helminth Options 🔢

Condemn is the weakest ability on most builds because it's weaker than some of the Helminth options. All of his abilities have a place but their gimmicks might not suit your playstyle so replace whichever one you like the least.

Ensnare is a great crowd control ability and groups up enemies to be dispatched by your Mecha set mods.

Resonator keeps enemies from retaliating while grouping them up for your Kubrow to mark. It has the downside of causing the marked enemy to constantly run around chasing the Resonator which can be a bit confusing in cramped tilesets.

Larva, Airburst, and other abilities that forcefully displace enemies are strong and cheap but have the downside of making it difficult for your Kubrow to mark enemies.

Other abilities are decent but provide a lot of redundancy due to the existence of operator mode, average loadout combinations, and the previously mentioned options.

📊 Ability Stats 📊

Range has the most investment with Duration having a mod or two used to make some crowd control abilities last longer. Efficiency isn't touched as Thurible should cover your energy needs but this all comes at the cost of Strength.

Helminth Invigorations, Arbitration Buffs, Ally Abilities, Arcanes, and other external stat boosts can save you multiple mod slots but may rely on specific team compositions, loadouts, or sheer luck. Plan around these situations and modify your loadout to hit desired ability stat breakpoints.

⏲️ Duration ⏲️

Duration is boosted so various buffs don't need to be constantly recast. This increases your offensive actions per minute but it may be a bit much if your team is doing all of the heavy lifting.

⛽ Efficiency ⛽

Efficiency isn't touched because we rely on Thurible to solve any energy issues. This build should only run higher efficiency if you choose a far more expensive crowd control ability or you drop Duration.

📏 Range 📏

Range is necessary for crowd control abilities to be useful in all tilesets but it might be a bit too much if you play on the smaller tilesets. It also comes at the cost of Strength due to Overextended so it's the first mod you would cut.

💪 Strength 💪

Strength is lowered even though it comes at the cost of our buffs. This build is using the buffs as small quality of life bonuses and is relying more on their aspects that don't scale with Strength like invincibility from Covenant or the healing from Penance which is usually overkill even at base Strength investment.

↔️ Alternate Playstyles ↔️

Most builds utilize tools that can be swapped out to serve the same purpose albeit in a different manner. The following suggestions are an outline and aren't exhaustive.

🔧 Mods 🔧

  • Mecha Empowered is necessary for this build to function.
  • [Primed Sure Footed] is a powerful survival tool that completely negates many forms of hostile crowd control. It also allows weapons with a large area of effect to be fired with impunity. It's an expensive login reward so replace it if you have other forms of status effect immunity.
  • Natural Talent is useful for spamming all of your abilities but it can be cut if you're using a more conservative playstyle.
  • Rolling Guard synergizes with Covenant as it allows you to chain invincibility in a pinch.
  • [Harrow]'s augments primarily grant quality of life benefits so save these flex slots for augments related to subsumed abilities.

⚙️ Arcanes ⚙️

Arcane Energize pairs well with [Primed Flow] and allows you to be extremely greedy with your ability casts. It can be replaced if you're confident with your energy economy or if you're playing with an ally Warframe that provides energy.

Arcane Aegis synergizes shield gating and invincibility to grant you pseudo-invincibility against everything other than Toxin attacks. This is far less useful in lower level missions and can be replaced if you don't trust the high proc RNG.

📋 Final Notes 📋

[Harrow]'s passive grants 200% maximum Overshields and an innate [Preparation] mod. This is usually inconsequential in most content due to the shield gating meta and the copious amounts of energy regeneration from various sources but it can save a mod or two on some loadouts.

Penance and Covenant have negative synergy with Thurible due to the Range inconsistencies between mods and Affinity. This forces you to make sacrifices depending with mod opportunity cost so it might just be easier to tell allies to stay closer to you rather than ruin your build.

Many abilities have a headshot gimmick that increases their effectiveness. Not all enemies can receive headshots and allies can hinder your setups by killing enemies so no builds will factor in these headshots into calculations. They're just a nice bonus.
