Harrow: Gloom/Breach Surge/Sentient Wrath - Roaming Crowd Control

If you like this build, give it a 👍 to help out!

Harrow Gameplay Guide

[Harrow] is a hybrid support who grants various offensive, defensive, and utility buffs to himself and his allies. He excels at covering weaknesses seen in weapons with low critical chance, fire rate, or reload speed while also helping allied Warframes who struggle with their energy economy or survivability. These tools are balanced by gimmicks that hinder their effectiveness like needing to headshot enemies or having to sacrifice his shields.

📝 Build Overview 📝

[Harrow] has great buffs but his crowd control options are lackluster. This build attempts to remedy that by utilizing a subsumed ability which specializes in overwhelming crowd control.

🔢 Helminth Options 🔢

Condemn is the weakest ability on most builds because it's weaker than some of the Helminth options. All of his abilities have a place but their gimmicks might not suit your playstyle so replace whichever one you like the least.

Gloom is a great crowd control ability with the added benefit of allowing allies to heal themselves with their damage. It has some negative synergy with Thurible as it's a channeled ability locking you out of the energy regeneration.

Breach Surge is one of the strongest hybrid offensive and utility abilities in the game and can be used to shut down enemies with blindness or death.

Sentient Wrath cripples enemies with damage vulnerability and a Lift proc which plays to [Harrow]'s weaknesses.

Other abilities are decent but provide a lot of redundancy due to the existence of operator mode, average loadout combinations, and the previously mentioned options.

📊 Ability Stats 📊

Strength has the most significant investment with Duration and Range being slightly boosted to benefit your crowd control abilities. This comes at the cost of Efficiency but we've tried to minimize the loss.

Helminth Invigorations, Arbitration Buffs, Ally Abilities, Arcanes, and other external stat boosts can save you multiple mod slots but may rely on specific team compositions, loadouts, or sheer luck. Plan around these situations and modify your loadout to hit desired ability stat breakpoints.

⏲️ Duration ⏲️

Duration is boosted so various buffs don't need to be constantly recast. This increases your offensive actions per minute and slightly alleviates energy issues.

⛽ Efficiency ⛽

Efficiency is lowered by [Blind Rage] but brought back by [Streamline]. These abilities can still function with low Efficiency but if you're having issues you may need to change the subsumed ability or swap out Blind Rage.

📏 Range 📏

Range is slightly boosted to give your crowd control abilities a greater radius. Gloom can become overly expensive at max Range as you're always affecting 10 enemies even if they're not an immediate threat to you but additional Range may be needed on larger tilesets.

💪 Strength 💪

Strength is significantly boosted to benefit your buffs but [Blind Rage] might have too much of a negative impact on your energy economy. [Transient Fortitude] can be used instead but realize it can have a significant negative impact on Gloom. Other abilities may be a better option.

↔️ Alternate Playstyles ↔️

Most builds utilize tools that can be swapped out to serve the same purpose albeit in a different manner. The following suggestions are an outline and aren't exhaustive.

🔧 Mods 🔧

  • Aura mods should be selected based on your playstyle and loadout. Growing Power is used to get Gloom as close as possible to a 95% slow aura.
  • [Primed Sure Footed] is a powerful survival tool that completely negates many forms of hostile crowd control. It also allows weapons with a large area of effect to be fired with impunity. It's an expensive login reward so replace it if you have other forms of status effect immunity.
  • Natural Talent is useful for spamming all of your abilities but it can be cut if you're using a more conservative playstyle.
  • Rolling Guard synergizes with Covenant as it allows you to chain invincibility in a pinch.
  • [Harrow]'s augments primarily grant quality of life benefits so save these flex slots for augments related to subsumed abilities.

⚙️ Arcanes ⚙️

Arcane Energize pairs well with [Primed Flow] and allows you to be extremely greedy with your ability casts. It can be replaced if you're confident with your energy economy or if you're playing with an ally Warframe that provides energy.

Arcane Eruption synergizes with crowd control effects. It can be less effective when paired with some abilities so it can be swapped out depending on whether the ability benefits from the forced knockdown effect.

📋 Final Notes 📋

[Harrow]'s passive grants 200% maximum Overshields and an innate [Preparation] mod. This is usually inconsequential in most content due to the shield gating meta and the copious amounts of energy regeneration from various sources but it can save a mod or two on some loadouts.

Penance and Covenant have negative synergy with Thurible due to the Range inconsistencies between mods and Affinity. This forces you to make sacrifices depending with mod opportunity cost so it might just be easier to tell allies to stay closer to you rather than ruin your build.

Many abilities have a headshot gimmick that increases their effectiveness. Not all enemies can receive headshots and allies can hinder your setups by killing enemies so no builds will factor in these headshots into calculations. They're just a nice bonus.
