Titania: Roar/Eclipse/Null Star - Tank Buffs

Titania Gameplay Guide

[Titania] is primarily a support frame that can use Razorwing to transition into other playstyles. Most of her abilities focus on various defensive buffs or mild enemy crowd control. Razorwing grants her massive damage, survivability, and movement speed which can be adapted to various mission types.

📝 Build Overview 📝

Spellbind, Tribute, and Razorwing provide massive defensive buffs that can synergize with offensive properties from subsumed abilities. This build attempts to utilize defensive mods and subsumed buffs for a more greedy variant of most typical Razorwing builds.

🔢 Helminth Options 🔢

Lantern has inconsistent line of sight checks and it should be replaced until this system is changed on a macro level. If you're playing with some form of constant invisibility it's far more useful.

Roar is the strongest and most consistent damage buff in comparison to other options.

Eclipse is stronger than other offensive or defensive buffs but well lit tilesets and manipulation of your positioning.

[Xata]'s Whisper is a great buff when fighting Sentient enemies and provides reasonable damage against everything else.

Nourish, Smite, and other element buffing abilities are decent options to save a few mods on all of your weapons but may require weird mod positioning or additional augments in your loadout.

Warcry, Elemental Ward, and other hybrid defensive buffs provide a decent middle ground between the more offensive buffs and the strictly defensive buffs.

Null Star synergizes with the defensive aspects of this build but requires additional Duration and a greater emphasis on defense.

Other abilities are decent but provide a lot of redundancy due to the existence of operator mode and the previously mentioned abilities.

📊 Ability Stats 📊

Strength and Duration are the primary stats in a buff build with Efficiency being kept at the baseline. Range takes a hit but it doesn't have much impact on this build due to interactions explained below.

⏲️ Duration ⏲️

Duration is mainly for the buffs but gives a small boost to your energy economy. [Narrow Minded] and [Primed Continuity] should be enough for most situations unless your subsumed ability requires maximum investment like Null Star requires for full damage reduction.

⛽ Efficiency ⛽

Efficiency isn't touched as we're relying entirely on [Primed Flow] and Arcane Energize procs. Other energy sources can also be used when outside of Razorwing. If you're relying on smaller and more frequent bursts of energy then Streamline should be used instead of a flex mod.

📏 Range 📏

Range is lowered by [Narrow Minded] and it's effectively useless on this build. All of Tribute's buffs don't require Range investment to still affect allies and Razorwing gives enough mobility that repositioning near allies to cast Spellbind or your subsumed ability is fairly easy with a bit of practice and situational awareness.

💪 Strength 💪

Strength is high enough for subsumed buffs and Razorwing exalted weapons to feel impactful. Unfortunately it's high enough that [Razorwing Blitz]'s movement speed becomes nearly uncontrollable on most tilesets so Transient Fortitude can become a flex mod if you're looking to be more consistently maneuverable with the augment equipped.

↔️ Alternate Playstyles ↔️

Most builds utilize tools that can be swapped out to serve the same purpose albeit in a different manner. The following suggestions are an outline and aren't exhaustive.

🔧 Mods 🔧

  • Aerodynamics grants free damage reduction to [Titania] as Razorwing constantly keeps her in the air. Unfortunately it has a cap at 90% damage reduction due to targeted nerfs so this mod can be replaced if you're already able to hit that threshold.
  • [Primed Sure Footed] has some redundancy with Spellbind but it allows you to focus on the mission rather than strict ability upkeep. Either of these are mandatory in Razorwing builds to keep you from suffering a multitude of forced staggers when running into terrain so only replace this if you're able to keep your knockdown resistance up consistently.
  • [Aviator] is the primary flex mod in this build as damage resistance is capped when airborne. If multiple allies are equipped with Aerodynamic or you're running Adaptation then this comes a useless mod.
  • [Primed Flow] is a flex mods if you're relying on smaller but consistent bursts of energy. Streamline is usually the call to replace it.
  • [Natural Talent] can be considered a flex mod if you're only using abilities on their duration timers or if you're not planning on using Razorwing.
  • [Razorwing Blitz] is a powerful mod when used correctly but it heavily relies on your ability to skillfully navigate tilesets at various ability Strength combinations. This build opts not to run it. Spellbound Harvest and Beguiling Lantern are useful gimmicks but are heavily reliant on enemy positioning.

⚙️ Arcanes ⚙️

Arcane Energize synergizes with [Primed Flow] and keeps your energy topped off. It can be replaced if you have other strong forms of energy recovery either through abilities or other energy support frames. Offensive arcanes like Arcane Precision or Arcane Velocity are usually the call.

Arcane Avenger is easy to proc when in Razorwing as you simply need to grind your frame against a wall. It should be replaced if you aren't using Razorwing or the augment in any capacity. Tertiary defensive arcanes like Arcane Aegis or Arcane Guardian are usually the call.

📋 Final Notes 📋

Spellbind, Tribute, Lantern, and Razorwing all contain elements that aren't affected by mods. This can either be beneficial or detrimental depending on your stat distribution. Unfortunately it puts most builds in a position where they aren't making effective use of various ability stat investments but it also allows you to completely dump a stat with no penalties.

Lantern abides by several line of sight checks and some quirks with the enemy pathing that can allow it to be extremely effective or completely useless depending on the tileset and enemy density. It's far more effective when you and your allies are completely invisible as it will pull more aggro regardless of the circumstances.

Razorwing Blitz is a double-edged sword that can either be a massive boon to your movement speed or a complete detriment depending on your skill level and the makeup of the tileset. Increasing or decreasing Strength to suit your various needs is usually the call but if you're having issues with repositioning it may be more wise to just remove the mod altogether and focus on other forms of more manageable speed bonuses.
