Infused with rare Orokin alloys, the Bronco Prime is a highly efficient weapon, trading an increased Magazine Capacity and damage for a lower rate of fire.

Marked For Death Dizzying Rounds

This is a build for [Bronco] and [Bronco Prime] which is supposed to be used in conjunction with the helminth ability Marked For Death (MFD) while also leveraging the [Dizzying Rounds] mod. If you don't have [Dizzying Rounds] then you cannot use this build. I have an alternative build for the Zakti Prime that does effectively the same thing only differently.

This build is not about dealing damage with the [Bronco], but rather opening enemies to finishers, which is amazing for prepping MFD. This is especially useful on frames that don't have a (good) way of doing so, because DE (in their infinite wisdom) made it so it doesn't proc MFD if you shoot the enemy (with this [Bronco]) after casting MFD on them.

I went all out on the % chances for status on this guide to help demonstrate how reliable it is.

Usage Guide (4 easy steps)

Step 1. Use MFD on an enemy
Step 2. Get within 8m of the marked enemy and shoot them (while aiming)
Step 3. Perform finisher on them
Step 4. Profit

Status

This build makes the Bronco have a great chance to proc (on average) at least 1 of each of the 4 statuses in 1-2 shots (assuming you land all your pellets):

  • Impact: 99.9% to 99.9% chance (42.7% chance/projectile)
  • Puncture: 64.5% to 87.4% chance (5.3% chance/projectile)
  • Slash: 64.5% to 87.4% chance (5.3% chance/projectile)
  • Viral: 96.3% to 99.8% chance (16% chance/projectile)
  • None: 1.9060529472159885 E-8% to 3.633037837590756 E-18% chance (30.6% chance/projectile)

This equates to a 320% increase to melee damage if you're using [Condition Overload] (which you should be if you're running this set up) on top of the health damage boost from the viral stacks (up to 325% at 10 stacks).

Note: it is very very very unlikely to not proc a single status in 1-2 shots (if you hit all your pellets).

Riven

This can be optimized even further with a riven, but it isn't necessary. If you got a riven, I would suggest you replace [Lethal Torrent] with it. You'll most likely not want a riven that's maxed out (depending on the dispo of the weapon at the time); since what you'll be looking for is:

  • +Multishot
  • +Status Chance
  • +Reload Speed (not needed but is very useful if you can get it)
  • -Impact (as close to -87.5% as you can)

This will make your IPS spread fairly even so you'll have a better chance (on average) to proc all 4 statuses available (for the [Condition Overload] bonus). You'll want to bias viral a little bit just so you can get a few viral stacks on there, but not too much.

IF you do get that -87.5% impact (and nothing else) your status chances (to proc at least 1) would look something like this (for 1-2 shots):

  • Impact: 83.5% to 97.3% chance (11.5% chance/projectile)
  • Puncture: 83.5% to 97.3% chance (11.5% chance/projectile)
  • Slash: 83.5% to 97.3% chance (11.5% chance/projectile)
  • Viral: 99.8% to 99.9% chance (34.7% chance/projectile)
  • None: this would still be very very very small

Note: this is if you replace [Lethal Torrent] with your riven (which I do recommend).

More multishot and status chance will only increase these chances even further, but it isn't 100% necessary.

Mod Choices

[Dizzying Rounds] is a must. You cannot replace it. If you don't have it, then consider trading for one or use my Zakti build which does the same thing just differently. It definitely is more reliable in applying statuses but not as good at doing the whole finisher opening dealio.

[Suppress] is not entirely necessary but it's more of a luxury so you can do your invis thing easier and it's useful to use this on frames like [Ivara] which are sensitive to alarming weapons. An alternative to [Suppress] would be [Reflex Draw] or [Eject Magazine].

[Amalgam Barrel Diffusion] is on there because I like to use [Rolling Guard] on my invis frames (and I mainly use the [Bronco] on invis frames) so that extra speed is very useful. You can replace this with regular [Barrel Diffusion] if you either don't have the Amalgam one or if you don't really care about the rolling speed boost.

If the reload is too long for you, you can replace [Stunning Speed] with [Quickdraw] or [Primed Quickdraw] (you'd just need another forma in the case of the latter).

Arcanes

I've put on Secondary Dexterity for the passive of extra combo duration (overframe doesn't show that passive). An acceptable alternative would be Secondary Merciless for the extra reload speed. I would not recommend Secondary Deadhead, since you don't need its passives here.
