Banish Loki: The Swiss Army Knife of Frames

This build can be done in 29,300 endo, see the mods section for details.

I <3 [Loki]. I would argue that he's the most versatile frame in the game. Regular [Loki] is ok, but Banish [Loki] is better, allowing for actual synergy between [Loki]'s abilities.

[Loki], along with other invis frames (except [Octavia]), actually requires some skill to play. His overall crowd control effectiveness (with Decoy) and survivability rely heavily on how well you play him. So while this build does give you the tools to do those things, it is up to you to use them effectively.

I guess I should also say that this build works on regular and Steel Path. It all depends on how well you play it.

Ability Guide

[Loki] is basically sneaky [Nyx]. He's a manipulator and Banish [Loki] is no different. He's just regular [Loki] except he can bend the fabric of space.

Passive

So [Loki]'s passive is that he wall latches for longer. That's it. One of the more underwhelming passives in the game to be sure. I don't find myself using this all too much. You should use it as a temporary perch to use your abilities from.

Decoy

An underrated ability. Even without Banish, you can use this in a variety of ways. Here's a 6 minute excerpt from a guide to [Loki] that I found very informative (even after numerous hours of playing with [Loki]). It details ways you can use Decoy to cheese the game's AI. The rest of the guide is quite useful if you're new to [Loki].

The Savior Decoy augment is surprisingly decent. Think of it like Phoenix Renewal from [Oberon] except slightly worse. I personally don't use this augment, but I can certainly see its usefulness.

The Deceptive Bond augment is bad and shouldn't be used in PvE. Unless DE decides to make Decoy invulnerable (like [Octavia]'s Mallet ffs), this augment sucks.

Invisibility

[Loki]'s bread and butter. You should keep this up at all times. It is your means of survival. Don't cast this while on the ground, cast it after Bullet Jumping so you stay moving.

The Hushed Invisibility augment is great and, in my opinion, a must-have. Unless you're gonna use an inherently silent weapon or slap on Suppress or Hush, this mod is a god-send. It allows you to attack enemies freely, with whatever you want, without them getting a bead on where you are, which is great since they shoot at where they think you are.

Banish

This ability is subsumed from [Limbo]. It yeets whatever is near your crosshair into the Rift Plane. This ability acts as the synergistic glue for the entire frame, while simultaneously adding loads of capabilities to [Loki]'s kit. Keep in mind the rules of the Rift Plane, as they are numerous and convoluted, but necessary to truly understand your limits.

As per my advice I give to [Limbo] players, don't use this ability (outside of banishing decoy) unless you know what you're doing. It can be quite disruptive in cooperative play so be careful when using this ability while playing with other people. Keep in mind that you can unbanish stuff by holding down 3.

The Rift Haven augment is situational to be sure, but it has its uses. Namely, on defection missions, you can heal the Kavor with this augment while also preventing them from taking damage.

Radial Disarm

This ability is underappreciated. As of now, it is the only Warframe ability that can disarm enemies in a radius without requiring line of sight. This means that every enemy within your ability's radius will be disarmed. This is a huge debuff to enemies' DPS output (with the exception of infested enemies), and it lasts forever. This is, by far, the most powerful crowd control tool in the game versus ranged factions.

The Irradiating Disarm augment is interesting. If you ever wanted to have a mini Chaos in your pocket then this augment has you covered. It basically makes Radial Disarm a disarming version of [Nyx]'s Chaos that lasts for not as long.
This augment is particularly potent versus Infested because it effectively disables ancients' buffing auras for a little bit.

Usage Guide

Since this frame so damn versatile, I cannot simply list all the ways he can be used. However, I will give you this build's primary usage guide.

This build makes it so that you will [Recover] enough energy necessary to recast invis so you will be invisible forever (basically).
See the mods section for a handy dandy table to help you get to the self sustain invis sweet spot (in the event you choose to modify this build).

Step 0. Always be invisible.
Step 1. Slap down Decoy.
Step 2. Banish Decoy (making sure you don't banish any enemies).
Step 2.5. If your enemies have guns, use Radial Disarm.
Step 3. Murderize all the enemies that run toward Decoy.
Step 4. Profit.

Also, check out this build's guide, specifically the part that touches on mission specifics. I learned some things despite having numerous hours playing [Loki]. Show the author some love too.

[Rolling Guard]

[Rolling Guard] gives us a lot more flexibility, when used correctly.

If you find yourself in danger, slap that roll button. During the invincibility, do what you need to do (cast invis and/or disarm) and gtfo of there.

I highly recommend running a Decaying Dragon Key so you can abuse shield gating mechanics far easier in conjunction with [Rolling Guard].

I also highly recommend using a secondary with [Amalgam Barrel Diffusion] so you can spend less time in the roll animation.

If [Rolling Guard] is on cooldown, then you can either (You're not limited to these options, but I'm not gonna list all of the things you can do):

  • Use a shield pizza
  • Get into cover and wait
  • Spam rolls until you're safe
  • Die

Mods

You can change out a lot of the mods here to fit your playstyle. Loki is versatile.

If you were wondering why some of my mods aren't maxed, that is very much intentional to min-max this build so nothing is wasted.

If you do not have [Primed Continuity] maxed out, then get it to rank 8 and bump up [Narrow Minded] to rank 8. This will hurt your range a bit more, but you'll get to the self sustaining invis sweet spot.

If you do not have Rolling Guard maxed out, get it to rank 8.
If you do not have Rolling Guard, then you could replace it with:

  • Quick Thinking: for a safety net
  • Savior Decoy: another safety net
  • [Fast Deflection]: to regain shield gate that much faster

This build can be reduced to a total of 29,300 endo if you incorporate all the changes I outlined which is great for players that are strapped for endo.

There are more ways to cope with not having mods like [Primed Continuity], but I'm not going to bloat the guide length to enumerate all of them. Consequently, I have compiled a table for you lovely people to attain invis self sustain so you can achieve greatness by your own merit.

Invisibility & [Energy Siphon] Self Sustain Table

Given an efficiency %, this table will tell you what your duration % should be (at minimum) to sustain Invisibility in conjunction with [Energy Siphon].
If you intend to use the Molt Efficiency arcane, then simply subtract the duration listed with the duration your arcane grants at maximum.

Efficiency | Duration | Duration w/ Coaction Drift

       30% | 1181% | 893%

Arcanes

Generally when you're playing [Loki] you aren't getting hit so arcanes that apply their bonus when you get damaged aren't gonna be as useful.

I recommend Arcane Resistance as a quality of life improvement so those pesky venomous eximuses don't spread their filthy toxin proc to you.

Arcane Energize is a good choice if you're gonna use Radial Disarm a lot. While this build makes it so that 1 energy orb will cover the cost of Radial Disarm, sometimes you won't find an energy orb with every batch of enemies.

Molt Efficiency is a solid choice if you don't have [Primed Continuity] or prefer longer invis time.

Focus School

You can pick whatever focus school you want. This build is quite flexible.

It is worth noting that Vazarin has a bunch of tools that can supplement [Rolling Guard]. Allowing you to replace that slot with something else.

Helminth Stuff

You're putting Banish on here. On the plus side, you get to watch [Limbo] get eaten by the mouth in the wall.
