Equinox Gameplay Guide

[Equinox] has two separate and distinct kits that she can swap between at her leisure. Night Form is more defensive and provides several different forms of survivability and crowd control. Day Form focuses on offense and provides damage buffs along with a scaling nuke. The weakness of these varying playstyles are their inability to be used at the same time.

📝 Build Overview 📝

[Equinox] was the best stealth affinity farm frame due to Rest until the Helminth system was introduced but this build can still compete by using additional crowd control abilities. This build can also be used as a general use crowd control alternative.

🔢 Helminth Options 🔢

Pacify & Provoke has little purpose on this build due to it's low ability Strength. Metamorphosis isn't necessary if you're using Night form for the entire mission.

Ensnare synergizes with Rest to do similar crowd control at a higher cost and a slight delay.

Larva is faster and cheaper than Ensnare but has some issues with higher Duration and can alert enemies in stealth missions.

Resonator is a great crowd control ability but it immediately alerts enemies.

Other quality of life abilities are decent but provide a lot of redundancy due to the existence of operator mode and the previously mentioned abilities.

📊 Ability Stats 📊

Range is the primary focus of this build with some mild investment into Duration and Efficiency. This comes at the cost of Strength due to a lack of mod slots.

⏲️ Duration ⏲️

Duration is boosted to help your subsumed ability and your energy economy. It should be tailored to whichever ability you've chosen to subsume rather than her base kit.

⛽ Efficiency ⛽

Efficiency is increased by a bit to keep her energy economy in check. Streamline becomes a flex mod if you're confident in your energy economy.

📏 Range 📏

Range is nearly maxed to give your crowd control abilities additional coverage on most tilesets. Augur Reach is a flex mod on smaller tilesets.

💪 Strength 💪

Strength is nearly useless on this build and we run no mods that increase it. Some subsumed quality of life abilities can mildly benefit from some Strength investment but it probably isn't worth the opportunity cost from lost mod slots.

↔️ Alternate Playstyles ↔️

Most builds utilize tools that can be swapped out to serve the same purpose albeit in a different manner. The following suggestions are an outline and aren't exhaustive.

🔧 Mods 🔧

  • [Enemy Radar] helps you and your team to find enemies. This is especially important on runs in The Index that aren't abusing spawn manipulation. It can be replaced if there's sufficient Enemy Radar range to see enemies on the entire map.
  • [Preparation] allows you to start using the strategy from the start of the mission. This is less useful on builds that focus on crowd control rather than stealth farming.
  • [Augur Reach] and Stretch are flex mods depending on your build needs. Crowd control focused builds may need additional Duration mods instead.
  • Survivability should be covered by your crowd control abilities but flex mods can be replaced with Rolling Guard or quality of life knockdown reduction.
  • [Calm & Frenzy] can allow Rest to easily propagate between groups of enemies. Build that don't focus on Rest can cut this mod for other augments or any mod that fits into the polarity plan.

⚙️ Arcanes ⚙️

Arcane Energize synergizes with [Primed Flow] and keeps your energy topped off. It can be replaced if you have other strong forms of energy recovery either through abilities or other energy support frames. Offensive arcanes like Arcane Avenger or Arcane Strike are usually the call.

Arcane [Fury] can allow you to kill enemies with a single hit more easily. It isn't necessary against extremely low level enemies or when you're not using melee weapons. Tertiary offensive arcanes focused on other weapons types like Arcane Precision or Arcane Rage are usually the call.

📋 Final Notes 📋

Metamorphosis isn't necessary to utilize either set of abilities. [Equinox] begins a mission in Day or Night form depending on her primary emission color. This allows you to replace Metamorphosis if you're only planning on using a single form throughout the entire mission.

[Equilibrium] is the name of [Equinox]'s passive and the mod that provides a stronger version of the same effect. Both synergize with builds that farm health orbs through various means. Dispensary provides a boosted health orb that correctly converts to a boosted energy bonus. [Synth Fiber] allows you to pick up health orbs even when you're completely full on health so that you can benefit from the energy.
