General Grendel: The King of AOE Armor Strip

Gentlemen and ladies, and other personal identifiers, welcome. Welcome to the future of tanking, support, and crowd control. Welcome... to Grendel.

With this build, you will become the ruler of all things related to sustain, high-range crowd control, and of never seeing a single yellow health bar ever again. Pulverize will hit the entire map at its maximum range bonus. Your infinite healing means infinite energy from [Hunter Adrenaline], which you can turn into even more healing. No enemy will escape your ravenous [Gaze]. Your squadmates will always have the Nourish buff, no matter where they are. This build works on Disruption, Survival, Archon hunts, anything at all. If there are enemies to be eaten, you will flourish.

Recommended Focus Trees: Whatever you want. This build covers so many niches that you have the freedom to use whatever you deem necessary to get the job done. Personally, I recommend Madurai as your first choice, Zenurik as your second, and Naramon as your third.

Optional Slots: Aura slot; I personally like Energy Siphon for when I'm not running Zenurik. On-demand energy is hard to come by with this build, ES makes it a bit more tolerable. Other options include Physique, Combat Discipline, Growing Power, Power Donation, or Sprint Boost.
Adaptation; If you intend to take Grendel into high-end scaling, you will need [Adaptation] in this build. While it is generally viable and recommended for most gamemodes, especially lategame, it is also possible to slot something in there like Steel Fiber or otherwise to help boost your front-end survivability.
Exilus Slot: You can make use of [Catapult] with this build for more effective range on Pulverize and the shockwaves from it. This will remove your capacity to fully strip armor with one slam, but overall you don't lose much effectiveness.
Arcanes; Once again, use whatever you'd like. As listed is what I prefer, what you prefer may differ. Other good choices include Arcane Grace, Arcane [Guardian], or Arcane Energize.

Archon Shards: 3 Crimson Shards for Ability Strength or Duration, 2 Azure Shards for Armor or Energy Max. Can optionally swap a Crimson for an Amber for Casting Speed.
