Protea: Fire Blast/Fire Walker/Spellbind - Shield Gating (Decaying Dragon Key)

By utilizing a decaying dragon key, not only does [Protea] have a strong shield gate in the form of her shield grenades, she can also use several of her abilities to give her many shield gate buffers. We subsume a QoL or armor stripping ability to give her additional offensive or defensive options.

Fire Blast is chosen because it allows you to deal with extremely high armor enemies without having significant stat investment. Fire Walker and Spellbind [Protect] you from status procs that may hurt your shield gating potential as they're too cheap to grant a full gate in one cast.

[Blaze] Artillery is replaced because it's too weak on this build and competes with Grenade Fan for APM. You should only run one or the other now that the subsume system allows you to make either ability obsolete.

[Brief Respite] along with the two augur mods cause her 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ability to grant her overshields in one cast, giving her a full shield gate on command. Without a dragon key you have to spam them a few more times to hit the gate which may force you to rely on the shields from Grenade Fan.

Temporal Anchor gives you shields on cast which are restored even if you're killed during the anchor. The shield gate should give you enough time to [Recover] after rewinding. Without a dragon key this gets very tricky and may still get you killed.

[Rolling Guard] has an extremely quick recovery with her unique dodge animation, which lets you make more use of the invincibility.

[Equilibrium] now synergizes with the boosted health orb from Dispensary to give you over a hundred energy back per orb.

Arcane aegis gives you 12 seconds of invincibility if it procs. [Fortitude] and [Fast Deflection] cause the shield to regenerate far more quickly after the proc.

Combining all of this with the increased shield gate duration from her Fan Grenade drones, and you are effectively invincible as long as you keep on your toes and make good use of the several forms of invincibility you have in your arsenal.

Arcane Resistance should be slotted in against Infested as toxin damage goes through the vast majority of your forms of defense and the proc can hinder your shield gate regeneration. Usually you slot it over aegis but if you're confident in your energy economy you can slot it over energize.
