Wrathful Advance Red Crit Excalibur

Wrath Advance Red Crit [Exalted Blade]

When I was compiling my Void Touched Build that utilizes Incarnon [Ceramic Dagger] to build initial combo, I realize that you just don't have the time and volume to build combos in certain missions, so I began theory crafting a [Excalibur] build that is heavy attack based.

This build imo is far more versatile and easy to manage than any [Furious Javelin] build. [Furious Javelin] is a great augment mod that exponentially increase Excal's melee damage. However, it has a relatively short buff duration (base 16s), cost 75 energy per cast, takes about 2s animation that roots you and vulnerable to damage. Furthermore, the damage buff is entirely dependent on number of enemies available within your line of sight (it is not big of a problem in SP or endless modes, but can create inconsistency in dps and may require additional planning). Because of that, Wrathful Advance is the perfect subsume to replace Radial Javelin entirely.

IMPORTANT NOTE
DO NOT USE Adarza Kavat! It's CC buff interferes with Wrathful Advance proc and will give you worse crits!

*NEW BUILD (Please check out old section for additional information and thought process)

After testing the build for some time, I have decided to forgo ISP [Exalted Blade] and go back to [Chromatic Blade]. Reason being even though you have a higher raw damage, SP content favors armor strip and stacking statuses. Because of that we will continue to use Void Poisoning Chromatic Blade.

With [Sacrificial Pressure] and [Sacrificial Steel] on [Exalted Blade] (56.3% CC), 244.3% Str for Wrathful Advance is needed to consistently land Red Crits. 1 Crimson Tauforged Archon Shard (15% Str) + Umbral Set (77% Str) + [Transient Fortitude] (+55%) will bring you over the Red Crit threshold. With 4 more Crimson Tauforged Archon Shards (+37.5% CD), you will be able to do 15x your melee damage at a press of 1 button.

As I will be subsuming Wrathful Advance over Radial Javelin and remove [Furious Javelin], I opted to use Arcane [Fury] to apply an additional +180% Melee Damage buff regularly. This is honestly overkill, but this is a reasonable option for players who think [Furious Javelin] buff was a necessity. Not quite the numbers the augment could have exponentially gotten in theory, but it's still a substantial amount to offset the lack of said augment.

Arcane Reaper is simply qol, as I utilize [Hunter Adrenaline] a lot. Players should opt for Molt Efficiency for increased duration, or Arcane Energize if energy is a concern. Arcane Strike is another option, enabling you to remove [Primed Fury] from [Exalted Blade] for [Organ Shatter] to bring the CD to 6.8x giving you 20.4x on Red Crits.

Additional Notes:
I have attempted to create a build that utilizes both Wrathful Advance and [Furious Javelin], but it feels very clunky (even when trying to play Excal by abusing Shield Gating with [Brief Respite]). I suggest players to choose only one of either Wrathful Advance or [Furious Javelin] in their Excal build. Wrathful Advance provides a simple playstyle and consistent damage. [Furious Javelin] allows for other subsumes, a playstyle that requires more management and mechanics (see Void Touched Excalibur build, and a higher theoretical damage ceiling.

OLD

The introduction of Wrath Advance subsume from [Kullervo] completely changed up how stacking melee combos and heavy attacks work. Using my previous Void Touched Excalibur and Void Poisoning Chromatic Blade as template, this build will go back to the roots of ISP [Exalted Blade].

Wrath Advance as a subsume ability has diminished values. Even though it provides additive crit chance, we still need exactly 244.3% Str to always land red crits with the Sacrificial set on [Exalted Blade]. This is achievable with 1 Crimson Tauforged Shard (+15% Str), [Transient Fortitude] (+55%), and Umbral Set (+77%). At this level of Str and Crit, I think having ISP damage with elemental mods would be better than a pure status [Chromatic Blade] build. With 4 Crimson Tauforged Shard (+37.5% Melee CD x 4) I hit 20.4 x crit damage multiplier on every swing.

[Streamline] is optional, I just opted for it since you have lower Duration to maintain [Exalted Blade] channel efficiency, and recasting Wrath Advance constantly does require more energy management compared to my previous build. I find Radial Javelin excessive for this high energy cost build.

For the Arcanes, again I had mission types such as Archon Hunts in mind when I started building it, and I thought Arcane [Guardian] procs much more reliably, and Arcane Avenger is unnecessary or detrimental if you are using the Zariman Incarnon weapons.

Updating page and adding [Exalted Blade] build once Overframe adds Wrath Advance to list of Subsume abilities.
