Void Touched Excalibur

Void Poisoning [Chromatic Blade] [Excalibur] Build (Umbra and Regular [Excalibur] Friendly)

1 Crimson Tauforged Archon Shard (+15% Ability Str) and 4 Crimson Tauforged Archon Shard (+150% Melee CD)

Please see my Chromatic Blade Build and Incarnon Ceramic Dagger Build for Gladiator Stat Stick. Adarza Companion is recommended.

If you are trying to main Excalibur for endgame content, but you haven't subsumed Xata's Whisper on your general/endurance [Chromatic Blade] loadout, you are doing something wrong. [Xata]'s Whisper applies void damage as a separate damage instance (so it doesn't mess with status chance), increasing projectile damage and creating void bubbles on enemies hit by [Exalted Blade] and does the bullet attraction shenanigan with the energy waves. Using my Void+Rad+Toxin+Corro setup effectively gives [Chromatic Blade] the same effect as a [Mag] Bubble [Detron] combo.

For people who question replacing Radial Blind or Radial [Howl], I personally find it to be redundant in endgame content. I rather kill someone faster than CC them then kill them. Slash Dash while an elementary ability, provides mobility and invulnerability during the dashes. Along with my high initial combo [Ceramic Dagger], slash dash is a more effective ability for damage, mobility, and utility for my setup. Honestly it just looks cooler too. [Xata]'s Whisper also resets Sentient [Adaptation] for Umbra enthusiasts.

[Furious Javelin] is not a must have but can increase your [Exalted Blade] damage to absurd numbers, because the buff has no cap and the volume of enemies you will fight in endgame and SP is so high, you might as well just equip it. Remember that you need line of sight (360) for the javelins to hit.

You only need 189% Str to hit 100% status Chance with [Chromatic Blade], which you can achieve with just the Umbral set (+77%) and 1 Crimson Tauforged Shard (+15%). So you don't need to use duo stat mods and increase overall damage output with [Chromatic Blade]. The other 4 Melee CD shards might be a bit controversial, but I think that is best for my set up and please see my [Chromatic Blade] build for more information.

[Melee Guidance] is a qol aura mod that enables us to use a Gladiator set stat stick more effectively, please see this page for more information. You can use [Steel Charge] as everyone else does, but the melee damage increase is so insignificant setting your aura up to benefit the Gladiator Stat Stick is better.

With Hunter's Adrenaline, I honestly find [Primed Flow] or energy efficiency unnecessary for Exaclibur. With 155% duration, channeling [Exalted Blade] isn't too bad, and Arcane Energize is just not really worth it compared to Arcane Reaper and Avenger. Radial Javelin might cost a bit more to cast, but you shouldn't really be using it unless you are facing a large volume of enemies or strong enemies, who will already do health damage which translates to energy. Regular [Excalibur] users can opt to use one Azure Tauforged Archon Shard for 75 addition energy to bring the pool up to 225 in line with Umbra and Prime.

Notes:

  • Personally, I think Regular [Excalibur] is better than [Excalibur Umbra] at this time. While [Excalibur] has less stats, Umbra has the fatal flaw of dispelling active abilities and buffs when transference and Umbra sentience takes over. This is especially detrimental to endgame content since operator mode is used so often, and the actions and damage accumulated by Umbra sentience is unfairly translated to the player when they transference back into the frame. [Exalted Blade] by some miracle is not affected by this, so this is obviously a major design oversight and makes Umbra undesirable until DE rectifies it.

  • Subsuming and replacing Radial Blind or Radial [Howl] will disable the blind from [Exalted Blade] spin attack and still consume energy. You shouldn't be using the move regardless, but just a small note.
