Of the low tier weapons that the Circuit and Foist upon you [Cestra] is. . .pretty close to the bottom of the barrel. its one of those guns that is so unsalvagably bad that even a riven mod with ideal stats cant save it. its list of downsides is long, including:

non hitscan; slow projectiles

poor reload speed

bad CC

worse CD

mid recoil management

the worst possible ISP spread (mostly puncture, small impact, no slash)

to makeup for these weaknesses it gets. . nothing. no augment mods or hidden stats like forced procs.

its list of upsides includes:

decent, but not great status chance

. . .and thats it.

so we end up with a fairly standard viral/heat status sidearm build. its not good, but its not great either.

the above listed is the most braindead configuration, but there are some alternatives

Drop hornet strike; add Primed bane of corrupted. better for Circuit trash mobs. worse against thrax/dax.

Drop [Hornet Strike]; add Primed quick draw. lose a small amount of damage in the long term, to address one of the weapons key issues. can be addressed by just taking the rolling reload instead.

Drop [Hornet Strike]; add . . . .[Primed Target Cracker]? so once you [Reach] high intrinsics you get 20% free flat crit in the circuit. brings it up too 26% which on an automatic weapon is. . . . .ehhh. . enough to think about it but probably not enough to do it.

For an additional 2 forma and an exilus adapter you can slot ammo mutation and deal with the fact that you are running out of ammo with this piece of trash, or for 1 forma and an adapter you can slot [Lethal Momentum] and miss less of your shots due to the slow projectile speed. the choice is yours, and yours alone. i sadly have many more bad weapons to forma, and am not interested in the extra expense.
