Build Breakdown:

The goal is that the viral status effect improves any further damage, and then Heat is weighted higher with [Chromatic Blade] because it removes 50% of Armor and is infinitely scaling damage. Viral also improves DOT effects such as Heat and Bleed damage. I can obtain bleed through either Radial Javelin or Slash Dash during [Exalted Blade], also Bleed damage should come naturally because we're equipping [Furious Javelin]. Bleed damage bypasses armor completely so it's quite good as [Excalibur] does not naturally have a 100% armor strip ability. I am also using the Sacrificial Duo mods, [Berserker Fury], and [Organ Shatter] to further improve my [Exalted Blade] damage. The emissive color I use on this build is Heat but electricity for crowd control works too.

What emissive color should I use for this build?

For this Gloom [Exalted Blade], you should use either Electric or Heat for emissive colors. I prefer Heat, but electricity works too. The latter, so long you change [Molten Impact] into [Shocking Touch]. Blue and purple hues make Electricity. Red, magenta, brown, orange, and bright yellow hues make Heat.

What do I do with my regular melee weapon?

You can use it when you run both out of energy and ammo. I mostly keep it as a combo stick, where I equip the [Gladiator Rush], [Gladiator Might], and [Gladiator Vice]. This results in a 30% Critical chance per combo multiplier that affects Exalted Blade. It boosts DPS by a significant amount, but it was a bit too much min-maxing for me.
