Citrine, A Gift From The Sun

Hello there,

Introduction:

Glisten bright with gemstone purity and become bejeweled in adamant amber. Revealed by luminous lustre, witness her pristine beauty as the crystal bastion, [Citrine], ascends from the cavernous unknown. Embrace beloved kin in her diamond lattice, then fracture brilliant light into its elemental spectrum. Summon saffron shards and fractal familiars soaring toward the surface skirmish, eternally engraving the fallen's last [Reflection] onto exquisite mementos.

Citrine is an amazing support Warframe, but most people mistakenly try to make her a "face-tank" which, as I personally tested, works very well up to level 500+, which is the early Steel Path... the higher levels start to appear, the worse effect gets as a tank.

Playstyle:

I always keep my Preserving Shell up to [Protect] myself and my team. I do not stay in place and get hit, that does not work like that. Damage Reduction doesn't mean you are invincible.

If the mission is about standing in the area, I put Prismatic Gem in the middle, so it can beam our enemies and keep buff us. It also activates Archon Mods pasives. Enemies treated by Fractured Blast are also targeted by Prismatic Gem, so use her first ability as much as possible.

When at extermination or other fast mission, based on moving from place to place I'm rotating between her 1st and 4th ability, to keep my Energy Pool at a satisfying level.

Attributes & Abilities:

Passive: Geoluminesence
When Citrine picks up a Health Orb, an aura surrounds her that steadily provides additional health over time.

  • Honestly, it's a very weak passive, even when combined with life-renewal skills or arcanes. From 5/s to up to 25/s?! What a joke! It would make sense if it was a percentage.

Fractured Blast
Slash and stagger enemies with a crystal blast that inflicts Bleed. Enemies afflicted with this Status Effect have an increased chance of dropping Health and Energy Orbs.

  • Very good and useful ability, can also trigger Prismatic Gem, so use it as much as possible, it's the ceapest ability in your arsenal anyway.

Preserving Shell
[Citrine] guards herself and nearby allies with a crystalline shell that gradually decays. Kills and assists increase the defensive power of the shell.

  • An ability that gives you and your teammates a good chunk of Damage Reduction, but it doesnt make you invincible, so don't be cocky, you are still vulnerable.

Prismatic Gem
Deploy a gem that shoots prismatic beams. The gem targets enemies that are taking weapon damage from [Citrine] and her allies. Its beams inflict Heat, Cold, Toxin, and Electricity Status Effects. Status Chance and Status Duration increase for nearby allies.

  • Makes annoing sound just like her 2nd ability but does the job. Because it work like a fricking rainbow, the build also must look like a fricking rainbow. The only Archon mod that no skill can activate is [Archon Intensify] (provided of course that you don't change any of your skills to one that does).

Crystallize
[Citrine] summons crystal fractals. The fractals [Rush] forward, seeking enemies. Enemies touched by the fractals are paralyzed by crystalline growths. Hit the growths to deal increased damage.

  • In my build, after a lot of testing, I found this skill to be the least useful for me and also cost me the most, so I replaced it with something that will actually help me and my friends. That's why I put Tharros Strike, which work perfectly here, also against bosses, acolytes or Corpus units, because it works on any type of defense, i.e. it removes it. At the moment there is no augment for this skill.

Aura Slot:

Suggested Aura Forma, so that it can be changed, when needed.

  • Brief Respite - Grants Shields equal to a % of Energy spent while Overshields are inactive.
  • Combat Discipline - Allies gain Health on kill. Aura bearer loses Health on kill.
    WARNING: this Aura can kill bearer.
  • Corrosive Projection - Reduces enemy armor.
  • Enemy Radar - Pinpoints enemy locations on mini-map.
  • Energy Siphon - Provides constant Energy regeneration.
  • Growing Power - Increases Ability Strength after Status proc. <- recommended
  • Mecha Empowered - Increases damage against marked enemies.
  • Swift Momentum - Increases Melee Combo Duration.

Exilus Slot:

Must be unlocked with an Exilus Adapter.

  • NONE - if there is no such need, then there is no point in unlocking the slot.
  • Cunning Drift - Increases slide, reduces friction and increases Ability Range.
  • Handspring - Speeds up a Warframe's knock-down recovery rate.
  • Power Drift - Increases Ability Strength and grants a chance to resist knockdown.
  • Speed Drift - Increases sprint speed and casting speed.
  • (Primed) Sure Footed - Increases a Warframe's chance to resist knockdown.
    Primed version is exclusive to the Daily Tribute system. It will become available at first at day 400. TAKE IT!!!
  • Vigilante Pursuit - Displays all enemies within its radius with red markers on the mini-map.

Warframe Arcane Enhancements:

  • Arcane Aegis - On Shield Damaged, 3% chance for +30% Shield Recharge for 12s.
  • Arcane Avenger - On Damaged, 21% chance for +45% Critical Chance for 12s.
  • Arcane Barrier - On Shield Damaged, 6% chance to instantly restore all Shields, 6s cooldown.
  • Arcane Blessing - On Health Pickup, +24 Max Health. Stacks up to 50x.
  • Arcane Energize - On Energy Pickup, 60% chance to replenish 150 Energy to self and allies within 15m. 15s cooldown.
  • Arcane Eruption - On Energy Pickup, 100% chance to Knockdown nearby enemies.
  • Arcane Grace - On Health Damaged, 9% chance for +6% Health Regeneration/s for 9s.
  • Arcane Guardian - On Damaged, 15% chance for +900 Armor for 20s.
  • Arcane Pulse - On Health Pickup, 60% chance to restore 300 Health to allies within 25m. 15s cooldown.
  • Theorem Demulcent - Standing in a zone created by a Residual Arcane increases weapon damage by 12%/s stacking up to 15x. The effect persists for 20s upon leaving the zone.
  • Molt Augmented - On Kill, +0.24% Ability Strength. Stacks up to 250x.
  • Molt Efficiency - While Shields are Active, Gain 6% Ability Duration per second, up to a maximum of 36%.
  • Molt Reconstruct - Heal yourself and your allies within Affinity Range 6 Health for each Energy point spent on the initial casting cost of abilities.
  • Molt Vigor - On Operator Ability, 45% Ability Strength on next Warframe Ability Cast.

Focus School:

  • Madurai:
    Power Transfer - 50% Casting Speed on switching to Warframe.
    Sling Strength - Switching to Warframe after a Chained Sling adds 40% Ability Strength for 20s.
  • Vazarin:
    Void Snare - Ability launches a projectile that spins up a vortex trap on impact, or tap 2 again to detonate in-flight. Trap lasts 8s.
    Protective Sling - Allies touched by Void Sling are granted immunity from damage for 5s and healed 60% over 5s for 10 energy cost.
  • Naramon:
    Power Spike - Melee Combo Counter now decays while out of combat by 5 every few seconds, instead of depleting completely.
  • Unairu:
    Poise - Gain immunity to slow, stagger, and knockdown effects for 40s after transferring between Operator or Warframe.
    Magnetic Flare - Use your first Ability to create a 8m radius field that lasts for 30s and disables the shields of any enemy that enters it.
    Caustic Strike - Second Ability launches an energy bomb that explodes with a 8m radius, stripping 100% of enemy armor. Tap 2 again to detonate in-flight.
  • Zenurik:
    Energy Pulse - Energy pickups grant 50 % additional energy over 5s.
    Wellspring - First Ability creates a well of energy for 8s. Allies passing through the well gain 5 Energy/s for 30s. Use your first Ability inside a Wellspring to increase its size, boost its duration by 20s, and grant 20% Ability Strength to those inside.
    Temporal Drag - Second Ability emits a radial burst, slowing any enemy it touches by 80% for 10s.

Helminth Subsumable Abilities:

  • Empower - Increase the strength of your next ability use.
  • Energized Munitions - Imbue your weapons with ammo efficiency.
  • Expedite Suffering - Hit enemies in a cone, affected enemies will have their Bleed and Toxin status removed, and their remaining damage dealt in a burst.
  • Hideous Resistance - Grant yourself immunity to Status effects.
  • Sickening Pulse - Emit a pulse that adds stacks to Status Effects already afflicting enemies, except Bleed, Heat, and Toxin effects which are duplicated with fresh timers.
  • Fire Blast - Crowd Control, Armor Strip, Healing.
  • Nourish - Crowd Control, Damage Buff, Energy Restore.
  • Coil Horizon - Damage, Crowd Control.
  • Pillage - Defense Strip, Shield Restore, Status Cleanse.
  • Ensnare - Crowd Control.
  • Eclipse - with augment Total Eclipse, Damage Buff, Damage Reduction.
  • Terrify - with augment Creeping Terrify, Armor Strip, Crowd Control.
  • Resonator - Damage, Crowd Control.
  • Roar - Damage Buff.
  • Gloom - Crowd Control, Healing.
  • Tharros Strike - Crowd Control, Defense Strip, Healing.
  • Breach Surge - Damage, Crowd Control.
  • Xata's Whisper - Damage Buff, Bullet Atractor.
  • Aquablades - with augment Surging Blades, Crowd Control, Damage.

Loadout:

  • Weapons - any Status Spreaders are always welcome, try to have each weapon have a different elemental, this way you will always buff the damage on the weapon you will use to finish off enemies.
  • Companion - Your devoted servant - the best companion is the one who never actually leaves you.

Summary:

[Citrine], affectionately called by us "Krystyna", is a pretty spacious Warframe overall, she's not super powerful when it comes to dealing damage, her main strengths are team support as well as a lot of ability to apply Status Effects, or a small but not negligible one crowd control. So where will she find herself? Where most buffers, i.e. all kinds of defense, excavation, etc., she is certainly not an expert in spying or nuking entire rooms full of enemies, but wherever she goes, she will provide her team with support.
