Daikyu takes great strength to draw back, but provides added power and range to every shot.

Daikyu - Kubrow Steroid

When building a Kubrow, one of the most valuable mods they can equip is Hunter Recovery. If built properly, each kubrow attack can fully heal your warframe, even if they are the likes of [Nidus] or [Grendel]. Two of the most important mods for this are Hunter Synergy and Mecha Overdrive which give a kubro critical chance and status chance, respectively.

How do Hunter Synergy and Mecha Overdrive work?

Both of these mods are designed to scale off of whatever the equipped primary weapon's stats are. For example, Hunter Synergy gives 30% critical chance link. If the primary weapon has 100% critical chance (after moding) then the mod adds 30% critical chance to the kubrow ADDITIVELY. That part is pretty simple.

Its important to remember that this is ADDITIVE, meaning its applied as a flat number after the kubrows equipped mods. Lets use an example. Most kubrows have 10% critical chance and will be running Bite. This results in 0.1(1+3.3) = 43% critical chance. Now if we have Hunter Synergy and a primary with 100% critical chance it become 0.1(1+3.3) + 0.3(1) = 73%. Thats a substantial boost that wouldn't be possible without this mod. Mecha Overdrive works the same exact way.

An important note is that Hunter Synergy and Mecha Overdrive only scale off a primaries "basic" attack. If the weapon can be charged, the mods scale off an uncharged shots chances. If the weapon has an alternate fire, it is always ignored for the mods calculations. This is critical when finding a proper weapon to use as a steroid.

Why use the [Daikyu]?

One problem with finding a primary weapon to buff both of these kubrow steroids is that almost none have high enough base stats to be effective at getting the kubrow over 100% critical and status chance. That is where the [Daikyu] is unique in that it has the highest TOTAL chances of all primaries. Unlike every other bow, this attack cannot be fired early meaning that Hunter Synergy and Mecha Overdrive scale off extremely high base stats.

Status chance is easy to set up. Kubrows have a base 5% status chance and Mecha Overdrive adds 60% of the primary weapons value. With the Daikyus 46% base cance its easy to stack mods to [Reach] the minimum of 160% status chance on the primary. This will give the Kubrow 100% status chance in turn, and anything beyond this is just extra.

Critical chance is more complicated. This weapon is meant to be a stat stick, vertually unusable for normal use. That means mods that apply conditional critical chance like [Galvanized Scope] aren't going to be useful. That leaves the single mod of [Critical Delay] ([Point Strike] is just a worse version for this purpose and can't be equipped at the same time). Using the formula we talked about earlier, thats only 0.1(1+3.3)+0.3(0.34(1+2)) = 73.6% critical chance. However, even if we used another weapon with the max 50%, thats still only 88% critical chance. This makes the [Daikyu] comparable in performatnce.

A riven can be used to try and get closer to 100% critican chance though is tricky. A 2 buffs, cursed, and max rolled critical chance will BARELY get your kubrow up to 100%, which while that is nice isn't necessary.
