APEX PREDATOR GARUDA | + An Informative Guide

I gave a lot of time to this character; I love everything about it. I hope you find this build enjoyable and formidable!

(You can fit any second arcane, I found myself using different arcanes time to time. Get bloody funky!)

[Garuda] has interesting logic going on. I would love to talk about mods' synergy with the ability kit and give info about my picks first.

1 - Mod: [Natural Talent]

[Garuda] performs weaker than other DPS characters when her slow cast speed is outmatched. Her abilities are overall slow, and we supply [Natural Talent] to compensate.

[Natural Talent] is pretty much the "fire rate" of [Garuda]. I consider Natural Talent essential, not just strategically, but because also it's personally more fun to perform a lot faster.

2 - Augment: Blending Talons

Garuda is a close-quarters-combat excellency. [Blending Talons] remove the need to be precise with 4th ability, which not only makes you work faster, but also utilize a sphere instead of cylinder hit area.

If you don't like to engage much, you can swap this with [Blood Forge], which will also make you work faster. Combine with Arcane Victory to almost always have your instant reload available.

3 - Keeping at it

You have to survive, you have to kill. Easy task for [Garuda], but doing more than that is possible, and much fun!

Theres more than a couple ways to supply Garuda with enough energy to rip & tear. Traditional Zenurik bubbles and energy pizzas aren't enough!

I find a healing-focused operator setup most beneficial. I use Magus Elevate to instantly supply max health to cast her third ability twice in success.

Other things that help are Magus Repair, and VAZARIN school. These not only benefit greatly to your squad, but also remove the rare inconsistency of Magus Elevate, allowing you to survive longer and avoid bloody unfortunate gaming dying in bad ways.

I optimized her survival capabilities by using [Primed Flow] and [Quick Thinking]. This way, you have two health bars. This way, you can also benefit from the double damage near death passive without much worry. Amplify this greatly by activating Arcane Arachne.

[Garuda]'s energy income from her third ability is all about current health percentage. Great max HP doesn't matter to your energy income from the third ability. It's all percentage work: You lose 50% health, and get 1/5 of MAX energy (here 22% of 600energy) with 45% ability efficiency. If you don't have a healing operator setup, you might want to sacrifice Blind Rage.

To optimize survival and DPS, I put Adaptation instead of Vitality. This way, you do all you want - Rip and tear until it is done! With much ease, of course.

4 - Duration and Strength

I see so many builds that are optimized for quick success instead of consistent success. [Garuda] gets no second chances in fight, so consistency is what I pick.

I always found 100% duration and around 160% strength just enough for good consistency in both survival and damage. [Garuda] doesn't need much strength. She works mainly with percentages, and she's about bringing people down to ground, not quite going up to their level.

This [Garuda] setup doesn't need much duration, because I engage all the time. If you don't like to engage, you can definitely consider [Primed Continuity] instead of [Stretch] (or [Overextended] if you want to camp even harder). You can do that, and it might just be more fun for you. Go for fun. Fun means more consistency. Consistency is good.

ITS BLOODIED UP PRACTICE

I find it simple and satisfying.

1 - "GORE THE HORDE"

You're a bad bad cannonball of 44 meters of blood and carnage.

Have at least 100 energy. Pick a crowd of at least 2 enemies. Launch to the less-tanky enemy with second ability. Press 3, aim to tankier enemy. While safe, launch to the tankier enemy with first ability. Press 4, hold 1, shoot the blood orb as fast as possible. Watch them fall, or not. up to you.

2 - "I REALLY [Hate] THIS PARTICULAR ENEMY"

One, four, and anything you do after that will hurt really bad. One shot or slash can easily get them dead. You can even flying kick and bullet jump and it'll still get you laughing to your illegal amount of power.

3 - "COFFEE BREAK"

Enemies that shoot anything other than explosives are your cup of coffee. Have fun, press 4, shoot the blood orb, give your thanks and get going.

TIPS & TRICKS

  • You can interrupt a fast melee lunge with the third ability to travel with ease. Welcome warframe melee coptering in 2022!

  • You always jump with increased momentum while aim gliding and casting 4. Launching the blood orb will double this momentum scalar. Flappy bloody bird.

    You have a blood jetpack.

  • Pressing 3 with pauses while within an impaled enemy that heals you gets you quicker energy. You are the efficiency mod!

  • You heal allied actor objectives with your second ability. Vazarin does the same with dashing, but this is long-term.
  • Arcane Arachne is busted with [Garuda]. Secret ingredient!!!

  • All offensive aspects of weapons are very well amplified with your fourth ability. Anything in Garuda's hands can kill, even fishing spear.

  • Sadly you have to watch out for falling off the map and deal with nullifiers with very primitive solutions. Baaaaaah, [Grakata]!

That's all from me. Now rip and tear until it is done!
