Nourish gives a raw viral damage bonus to peacemakers as well as an energy multiplier. This allows us to both boost DPS and improve energy economy, although if you still have energy issues, you can use additional energy production methods such as [Equilibrium], Energize, [Grimoire] with [Xata Invocation], Zenurik Wellspring, Primary Exhilarate, Emergence Dissipate. Nourish also creates an AOE forced viral proc every time you take damage.

Arcane Hotshot can be in empty slot since it gives 300% critical chance which equates to an extra final 75% critical chance, which is ultimately higher than what arcane avenger gives (45% final).
SURVIVABILITY
Method 1: Active Shield Gating
Muzzle Flash is the major source of survivability creating an approximately 20m non-line of sight radial blind every couple of kills
Catalyzing Shields reduces Mesa's max shields to 56 (and currently is bugged to allow ANY amount of shield gained to give 1.33s i-frame on breaking). The act of going in and out of 4 should keep shield gate constantly refreshed. Rolling Guard is OPTIONAL and gives additional i-frames for shield gating. A single Augur Mod (e.g. [Augur Secrets], [Reach] or message or Augur on a pistol) is sufficient for full gating.
In lower levels, having Shatter Shield active also gives 95% damage reduction so keep this active.
If you run Secondary Fortifier on your pistol, Shatter Shield's reflected damage appears to steal overguard (bug) from eximus.
Method 2: EHP Tanking
You can utilize Shatter Shields 95% damage reduction to projectiles and swap [Catalyzing Shields] for [Adaptation] for another 90% damage reduction.
STAT BREAKDOWN
Duration
Some duration is needed to help maintain the uptime of nourish, shooting gallery and shatter shield. Duration also effects the drain of peacemakers.
Efficiency/Energy Economy
Efficiency is required for the drain and activation of peacemakers. You can get free 30% efficiency from [Seismic Bond] on your pet. [Primed Flow] + [Equilibrium] + Nourish helps sustain energy.
Range
Range is mainly needed for [Muzzle Flash] radius which stuns enemies, but also helps with nourish viral retaliation range. Range does NOT affect how far [Regulators] can shoot, but does affect the final reticle size after 20 bursts.
Strength
Strength affects [Regulators] damage with the following formula:
1 + 1.5 x (1 + 1.5 x STRENGTH + PEACEMAKER DAMAGE MODS + SHOOTING GALLERY BUFF x STRENGTH)
You can see this means strength is additive to damage mods (e.g. [Hornet Strike] and [Galvanized Shot]), but also that if you run [Galvanized Shot] which provides up to 600% damage at 5 statuses, this is equivalent to running 400% strength already. Each strength mod slot taken up on [Mesa] therefore does not add that much relative boost to final DPS. [Precision Intensify] is a good option as it is the biggest boost to 4 dps without affecting other stats too much, especially efficiency.

[Combat Discipline]: optional but helps consistently proc Arcane Avenger and Nourish viral retaliation (brief stun and viral proc)
[Corrosive Projection]: gives an effective 1.6x dps boost against armored enemies without any corrosive status
[Brief Respite]: use this for shield gating IF the catalyzing shield bug is fixed (where any amount of shield [Regen] gives 1.33s gate)
[Growing Power]: conditional strength has a very little DPS boost about 8%
[Pistol Amp]: only 2% DPS boost as it is additive to strength and damage mods, this would be a very last resort

- Nourish: Gives energy multiplier and viral damage to regulators
- Roar/Eclipse: Both give a similar damage bonus to regulators
- Xata's Whisper: gives slightly less damage than roar/eclipse but has bonus against overguard and also procs void bubble on enemies which attracts enemy bullets back into themselves
- Pillage: full armor strip boosts damage against armored enemies (10x) without needing corrosive procs, gives shield [Regen] for 2.5s shield gate and cleanses status
