Ignis Wraith builds

Mazinger-Z's Ignis Wraith : an advanced guide to play with fire.

Ok folks, this Riven was worth every penny of its 250P pricetag.

The numbers on Overframe do not take into account the accumulation of heat procs, that's why so many builds are absolutely not viable once the enemies have scaled enough (~150+ lvl).

Literature is once again required and I strongly recommend reading the entire page : https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Damage/Heat_Damage

--> "As can be seen in the above calculations for tick damage, Faction Damage is applied twice, making their effective bonus = (1 + Faction Damage bonus)2. Which is +69% for the 30% Faction Damage mods and +140.25% for the 55% Primed Faction Damage mods.
Repeated application of Heat procs do not stack tick damage in the same way other damage over time (DoT) status effects like Toxin, Electricity, or Slash do. Instead, a Heat proc both adds a stack and refreshes the duration of all currently active heat stacks on the target. This allows for ramping up Heat tick damage indefinitely (scaling up linearly) as long as heat status is kept refreshed within the 6 second effect duration (modified by Status Duration). Additionally, all Heat status stacks are automatically consolidated into one tick of damage per second, with new heat procs refreshing and further adding to this tick damage.
"

The meaning of all of this is pretty simple :

  • Use the correct faction mod. Primed Bane is actually stronger than Serration.
  • 50% crit chance is acceptable due to the high fire rate and multishot values. From 50% crit chance, a Crit Damage Riven is stronger than Crit Chance.
  • A balance is needed between Viral and Heat : you do not want to use Primed Cryo Rounds at all and Viral should not be > to Heat under any circumstances.
  • The proc distribution here is 44% Viral and 56% Heat, which is near perfection : the weapon will consistently stack heat procs while maintaining 10 stacks of viral. Meaning that all of the heat procs will be under a constant bonus of +325% damage.
  • Once Galvanized Chamber and Primary Merciless are activated and the bonuses start to pile up, it is game-over for every mobs you will shoot at.

Alternatives :

  • Replace Rime Rounds with High Voltage for a Corrosive-Heat build.
  • Replace Rime Rounds with Thermite Rounds for a 100% Gas build.
  • Replace Malignant Force with High Voltage for a Magnetic-Heat build.

Theoretical stats (from IG values - Faction mod) :

How close are we from these values ?

Well... Pretty close.

Notes :

  • Infested have at least 50% viral damage reduction, some units are immune to viral damages. The status effect is still working and can mitigate the damage reduction. Depending of their level, Corrosive-Heat or 100% Gas may be a better option against them.
  • Hunter Munition is a bad idea. With these values, the [Ignis] will only be able to stack and maintain (capped) an average 29 slash procs per entire magazine...Which is pointless. Even if you are using Arcane Acceleration, the amount of slash procs will still be ridiculously low.
