Kuva Chakkhurr META BUILD (29.10) - S tier weapon

Hello fellow [Kuva Chakkhurr] lovers,

This is a build that can output TONS of slash damage and is very effective against heavily armored enemies such as Steel Path Grineer, Steel Path Corrupted. It also makes killing demolysts during Disruption missions a breeze.

But why does it work?

Slash is a non-elemental damage type that has a very special Status Effect called BLEED. This Status Effect deals DOT true damage to enemies, which means it completely ignores armor. Other points to note is that Bleed doesn't scale with the actual damage type of Slash, meaning that mods such as [Fanged Fusillade] are useless. However it scales with base weapon damage that comes through mods such as [Serration] and [Heavy Caliber], gets enhanced by critical hits and does more damage against enemies affected by the Viral Status Effect.

Here we make heavy use of the mods [Hunter Munitions] and [Internal Bleeding] to proc bleed since the weapon itself doesn't have slash by itself. Due to the high base critical chance (50%) we can get it to 125% by using only [Point Strike] and pretty much always guarantee a 5.1x damage multiplier on all hits. With this high critical chance it is easier to proc [Hunter Munitions] and due to the weapon having a FORCED IMPACT PROC on every shot we can proc [Internal Bleeding] very often. Here we also take advantage of the low fire rate of the weapon, which means that [Internal Bleeding] has a 70% chance to proc with every shot.

As for an elemental damage type, we chose Viral since it can enhance the damage of the Bleed procs and is overall better against all factions. You could argue using [Rime Rounds] instead of [Primed Cryo Rounds] but I prefer the higher damage to oneshot lower level enemies without having to wait for the Bleed to kick in. The tradeoff here is that you have lower status chance, which means you don't get to proc Viral Status Effect very often. You can try both and see what's better for you.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Make sure that you have toxin as an innate lich bonus to the weapon. This way you can make viral without the need to add a toxin mod to the build. You can get toxin by creating the lich using the appropriate progenitor warframe (refer to the wiki: https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Kuva_Lich)

For the exilus slot (if you care to use any mod there) there are two main options:

  • [Vigilante Supplies]: You won't ever run out of ammo on this gun, but having the Vigilante Set Bonus can sometime result in better crits. It's a bit of a personal preference.

  • [Terminal Velocity]: This one is very nice to have since the Chakkhurr is a projectile based weapon, but it will require one extra forma to invest.

Conclusion

This is the current meta build for the [Kuva Chakkhurr], which makes it one of the better primary weapons as of update 29.10 (Railjack: Retrofit). It finds main use in high level content, but also excels against lower level enemies.

Have Fun!
