Xoris

Glaive of Destruction

by last updated a month ago

An obscure glaive weapon of Corpus provenance, intrinsically linked to Specter technology. The Xoris strikes rapidly and with great devastation. It is capable of chaining combos infinitely.

Glaive of Destruction

[Xoris] is easily, very easily, objectively speaking, one of the best glaives in the game, for one reason that needn't be mentioned, and reasons that should be obvious. The weapon's ability to achieve potentially permanent scaling is amazing on its own, but the explosion gives it great AOE advantages.

I don't view or care about precise Riven values, but the build assumes the most optimal version of Xoris is as close to 100% in specificity as possible. A neg-crit is unreliable for off-setting another mod-- And if you're nerfing other mods, you should not be freaking using those mods-- If the premise of your build is to find unnecessary reasons to hurt build fidelity with counters to one another, a neg-crit riven is by and large stupid-- a pos-crit riven KILLS the status procs. The reason for 'Slash' as a primary is so the [Xoris] is guaranteed to proc bleeds more than anything else. Increasing status is a second option to slash, if you don't have both-- this offers you a chance to proc twice and this is not considering Melee Duplicate. With the ability to hit twice, you have a chance to proc slash up to 4 times a strike. The only thing this build can't do is proc AOE slash with the throw, but it can proc everything else.

Attack speed is important for the [Glaive], as it allows you to throw more often and it offsets the time between recoiling from return, and acting into a throw, again.

Xoris does not have a duration-- Negative duration is the most natural choice of a riven flaw, since, if you're barely spending your combo, you're barely losing it. With that said, ANY range mod improves the radius of the explosion. Choosing to maintain bounce is a personal choice and it is actually MUCH more powerful, as it can set up multiple explosions, and this also FORCES the [Glaive] to proc status in each throw. Each hit is a damage instance for melee duplicate to multiply the procs. And if you are lucky enough to proc slashes like crazy, the weapon becomes about as good as any primary you had equipped. Maybe not the absolute best, but considering it's a melee, the melee claps pretty hard.

I also like Melee Duplicate's proc chance, when maxed. It does large amounts of consistent damage with fully optimized mods. And it doesn't fall too far behind, otherwise. In alternate cases, you'll want to swap out slash for toxic, or heat [Toxic for Corrosive damage, Heat, if you replace another mod slot to fit a status mod. The difference is that the weapon doing purely corrosive damage will make the weapon weaker than if it also applies burns.

In the case of a heat riven, if you don't use a weak or untouched toxin mod, your heat procs are likely going to proc less than corrosive. Corrosive stacks have a limit, but heat stacks can continue indefinitely. Both sunder armor.]
