The Tankiest, Self-Sustained Damage Dealer, Chroma.

Hello! In this guide, I will be explain how the build works.

Mods

  • Growing Power : Increase Ability Strength by 25% on applying Status Effects. Can be replace with Steel Charge for cheap option

  • [Power Drift] : Increase ability strength slightly with a 30% chance to prevent knockdown. Can be replace with Sure Footed, Primed Sure Footed or Handspring for more QoL improvements. Otherwise pray to RNGesus 🙏

  • Blind Rage, Umbral Intensify, Transient Fortitude : Increase Ability Strength as high as possible

  • [Primed Continuity] : Countering the negative stat of Ability Duration from [Transient Fortitude] and a bit more of it. Can be replace with [Archon Continuity] or [Narrow Minded].

Note: keep in mind, [Archon Continuity] drains 16 capacity and Steel Charge must be use in order to keep up that capacity. For Narrow Minded, change the polarity from Madurai to Vazarin.

  • Augur Secrets : Can recover shields a little bit if you are in a pinch, also increases Ability Strength

  • [Umbral Vitality], [Umbral Fiber] : More armor to become tanky and more health to tank incoming damage, allowing the buff damage from his Vex Armor skill to reach maximum number easily. Also increasing the value number of Umbral Intensify from 44% to 77% Ability Strength.

  • Adaptation : Reduce incoming damage and status effects from enemies.

Arcanes

  • Molt Reconstruct : This is very important because you can [Recover] your health according to the energy you spent on casting skills. Thanks to the low efficiency from [Blind Rage], you can recover to full health if its max rank. You can also be a temporary medic to your teammates within the Affinity Range

  • Molt Augmented : This one is optional to pick. You can use other arcanes like Arcane Avenger, Arcane [Guardian] and etc. Highly recommend to use Arcane Fury if you use mostly melee weapons. I'm looking at you Exodia Contagion.

Archon Shards

  • All of them are crimson shards and must be Ability Strength, potentially reaching up to 500%+.

Skills

  • Nourish : This skill shines the build most as it multiplies the energy you obtain during the duration of the skills. It can also gives you Viral damage buff so that you no longer need to use another weapon as a primer. Subsume this skill either on Spectral Scream or Effigy.

  • Elemental Ward : Use fire element so that you can increase your health to double amount you have.

  • Vex Armor : Damage on Shields increases your armor. Damage to Health increases your damage.
    If the armor buff did not reach to max, cast again to recover your shields (From Augur Secrets).

Gameplay

  • Use Zenurik focus school to cast wellspring at the start of mission.

  • Cast Nourish to replenish your energy.

  • Immediately use Elemental Ward and Vex Armor.
    Recast Vex Armor to reset its duration when it almost out.

Conclusion

Thank you for reading on this guide! I've been using this setup on almost every mission ever since I subsume [Grendel] to counter his energy problems. This includes on Profit Taker, Steel Path Survival and etc. I hope this build can actually help people having problems hopping to Steel Path because [Chroma] is really a beginner friendly approach on his gameplay.
