Thoughts

[Gauss] probably isn't going that long on any arbitrations, but all other content in the game he seems suitable for should be covered by this build. And most importantly, his raw speed and ability kit is damn fun.

His abilities aren't good damage dealers on their own, and his contributions to team composition are completely lacking. But, he's turned out to be impressively durable, and - with range - boasts considerable crowd control through an absurd number of knockdowns with Mach [Rush].

Give him a solid melee weapon and you've got one hell of a wrecking ball on your hands.

Abilities

Strength needs to be 100%. Less is bad, more is pointless. The flat damage from abilities falls off very quickly, but at 100% your Kinetic Plating is total resistance to physical, cold, heat and blast.

Range is great. But not so amazing that you're trying to bowl over the entire room at once. 147% knocks over everyone within ~6m around [Gauss] when he uses Mach [Rush] and blasts ~15m around him when he crashes into stuff.

Duration is more greater than range. No need for more than the two big mods though. 250% works out at ~75s for Redline and Kinetic Plating.

[Flow] + Energise completely covers energy unless you are trying to run across the entire plains. If not running Energise R3 you could swap [Stretch] for streamline and it would run fine again. It'd be sad to lose the range, but the build is still good with a 5m knockdown.

The play-style of [Gauss] means energy gets used in moderate intensity bursts while refreshing Redline and Kinetic, but not very much in between unless you absolutely spam Mach [Rush]. [Flow] is perfect for this.

Sprint speed is bolstered by having [Amalgam Serration] on your primary weapon. It gets you to 2.1 Sprint Speed, and really anything more than that can't be controlled meaningfully. If you want to go all out though, this build has suitable polarities for swapping in the other two sprint mods.

Dipping further into Duration could give you an even larger battery, but you're looking at improving in ways you won't see a lot of value in when compared to the mod slots it will take.

Disclaimer

This build is absolutely not designed for those on a budget, ie without maxed gear and arcanes. It is strictly for the sake of engineering the very best possible setup for typical play situations where [Gauss] would be a laugh to bring along.
