Valkyr Prime Talons builds

Archon Flow

This build is intended to be used together with this Valkyr Prime build. In combination they enable [Archon Flow] to further support the energy consumption of 100% uptime Hysteria.

This build swaps the [Primed Fury] of the standard build with [North Wind], so the [Talons] deal cold damage which will trigger [Archon Flow].

But how badly are we crippling our build by going that route? Some quick math.

The DPS gain of [Primed Fury]:
The linked Valkyr Prime build has an ability strength of 220% if you include [Energy Conversion]. This means without Primed Fury the attack speed bonus is 110%, with Primed Fury it is 165%. So the DPS gain of Primed Fury is 265/210 - 1 = 26.2%.

The DPS gain of [North Wind]:
As you can see in the respective builds, with [North Wind] the total damage per hit is 2.948 and without it in the standard build the total damage per hit is 2352. So the DPS gain of North Wind is 2948/2352 -1 = 25,3%.

So in fact switching to [North Wind] is only a minor DPS loss.

But ...

1) It is 'only' Cold damage!
In fact Cold damage and Corrosive damage complement each other well. Corrosive is very good against ferrite armor, while Cold is good against shields and alloy armor.

2) [Primed Fury] is not such a great mod for comparison, why not just use a faction mod?
A valid point. I don't like faction mods here for three reasons.
a) Switching them all the time is an annoying hassle.
b) The [Talons] have a very low status chance, and low slash percentage. Hence they do not cause much bleeding. Faction mods are at their strongest when they can double dip with DoT damage. They are still stronger than either [North Wind] or [Primed Fury], but not by that much.
c) There is an increasing number of factionless enemies popping up lately. Sentients, Acolytes, the Archons, and now Thraxes in the [Voruna] farm mission. Against those faction mods do nothing.
