Melees in this game are all the same... builds are all the same... If you want the most efficient way to slice & dice, you build for forced Slash and use melee with primer, to put some status effects on your opponent.

Nothing new here... same build as on literally every melee in game, who have decent number of Slash damage.

Any alternatives?

Yeah!

If the smaller Range does not bother you, replace [Primed Reach] with Primed Smite Faction mod.

However, if you want to have a big swing and not lose on DPS at the same time, replace [Gladiator Might] with Primed Smite Faction mod.

Any cheapness?

Yeah!

Sure, you can safely cut your path to success by using a cheaper but less effective build. It looks like this:
