Perpetual Stasis | Limbo Prime: Defense (Mid Range) | Config A

Foreword

[Limbo] is great for Defense missions and this build will help you get the most out of him. This build focuses on maximizing your ability duration and energy availability.

Core Mods and Arcanes

[Energy Siphon] may not be the strongest aura but any source of energy regeneration is quite welcome. [Primed Flow] is here to increase our maximum energy capacity and almost every other mod here will help [Extend] Cataclysm's duration. The reason that the range is so low is because of nullifiers. If a nullifier's field touches any part of your Cataclysm bubble, Cataclysm will end immediately.

Although you could lower the range even more by dropping [Stretch], I personally prefer just a little bit more range. At only 34% range, the Cataclysm bubble feels too small for some defense objectives and is definitely too small if you want to fit into the bubble as well. If you want to try different percentages of range, swap [Stretch] with [Cunning Drift], Flawed [Stretch], or [Augur Reach]. Alternatively you could drop [Stretch] for almost no range or swap [Stretch] with [Overextended] for a bit more than base range. Whatever you decide to do, just remember that Cataclysm's radius will shrink over time.

By now, you may have noticed the unusual inclusion of the [Quick Thinking] mod in my experience [Limbo] is extremely susceptible to dying while not protected within his rift. Even then, eximus units and the occasional toxin status effect can still prove deadly. However, [Limbo] also possess a massive reserve of energy and this build offers multiple ways to quickly regenerate that energy. Consequently, [Quick Thinking] offers you a temporary solution to a future sticky situation.

Unfortunately, there aren't many arcanes that serve to benefit this build with the exception of Molt Efficiency. While Molt Efficiency is active, our ability duration shoots up to a staggering 342% (or 387% with my recommended archon shards). Don't worry if you do not have Arcane Energize; it is redundant but I couldn't find any other arcanes that I thought would prove to be beneficial.

Focus School

I would recommend the Zenurik focus school for increased energy regeneration but the additional energy is entirely unnecessary. I have never had low energy while using this build with, or without, the Zenurik focus school.

Helminth

1. Ability Replacement

  • N/A

If you're going to replace any of [Limbo]'s abilities, I would recommend keeping Banish and replacing Rift Surge. Banish is useful for protecting units that move around a lot such as hostages, kavor defectors, sortie and arbitrations defense operatives, and Chipper during an archon [Hunt]. That said, there aren't many abilities that would dramatically improve [Limbo]'s capabilities; but if I had to pick, I would recommend Silence. Silence can disable enemy abilities, including eximus units and Acolytes abilities, but does not disable nullifier fields. However, before you replace Rift Surge with Silence, I'd recommend you first consider high range [Limbo] builds where Silence has substantially more value and Rift Surge is actually useful thanks to the [Rift Torrent] mod. If you want to make use of the [Rift Torrent] mod, you should go against what I initially said and replace Banish. My second recommendation for Helminth abilities would be Dispensary to support your team.

2. Archon Shards

  • 3 Crimson (+10%/+15% Ability Duration)
  • 2 Amber (+25%/+37.5% Casting Speed)

While developing this build I, I felt the need to include two casting speed archon shards. The cast time of Cataclysm is on the longer end of warframe abilities and can get you killed on higher difficulty missions. If you would prefer, you could swap out a mod that provides low ability duration, like [Nira's Hatred], for [Natural Talent]; doing so might be a more efficient use of your archon shard slots.

Gameplay

After reaching a defense objective, cast your Cataclysm on the defense objective and follow it up with your Stasis ability to lock down any enemy that enters your Cataclysm's radius. [Limbo] is squishy and heavily relies on avoiding combat outside his rift. While inside his Rift, [Limbo]'s passive grants him increased energy regeneration. Between that, [Energy Siphon], Arcane Energize, the Zenurik focus school, and the increased energy capacity from [Primed Flow], you will never struggle for energy. Lastly remember that any eximus that enters your Cataclysm will be immune to Stasis until their overguard is broken and that nullifier fields will end your Cataclysm early.

Closing Remarks

If you don't have to worry about nullifiers, try my Perpetual Stasis | Limbo Prime: Defense (High Range) | Config B build for a high range / high duration build.
