The Dog Buffer

Yo waddup m8s,

This is the complementary weapon for my Equilord build, which is all about buffing up a pet.

So, as you might guess, this weapon isn't optimised to deal the most amount of damage.

There are two reasons we use a kitgun:

1: We need a residual arcane to make use of Theorem Infection. Here i chose Residual Viremia but the others do the same thing.

2: We want a really high critical strike chance because of [Hunter Synergy], which gives additive critical strike chance to your pet (in this case 93%).

That is also the reason why we are using [Gaze], as it has the highest riven disposition. If this should change in the future, the optimal chamber will change.

You also want Splat as a loader, as it gives the highest amount of crit.

Your grip isn't important, just has to be a primary one (See end of guide for more information)

As for mods we use:

Critical Delay, Galvanized Scope and a +Critical Strike Chance +Variable -Variable Riven to maximise Crit (We want 2 positives and 1 Negative to get the most crit)

Hunter Munitions for the Set Bonus

3 Flex-Slots to amp up damage so we can get the occasionally headshot-kill for your residual arcane of choice

You can swap out [Galvanized Scope] for [Argon Scope] if you can't keep the stacks of the former up, just keep in mind that you're losing out on ~80% crit chance.

I chose Primary Deadhead over Primary Merciless because it fits the Playstyle, but you can swap to the latter or leave it out entirely without missing out to much.

The reason why we use a primary kitgun instead of a secondary one is because the [Hunter Synergy] only scales of your primary weapon and [Hunter Munitions] can only be equiped on such.

You could choose a primary weapon with better crit chance and riven disposition to give your pet more crit and use a proper secondary kitgun.
That would result in a higher maintenance playstyle, as you have to keep up your scope mod and the residual arcane on seperate weapons, but is completely possible, but not really for everyone (me included).
I also think it isn't really necessary, as we already have really decent crit/disposition and the gun also has decend enough damage to keep your buffs up.

But if you want to absolutely max your pet that would be the way to go.

May the grineer fall in your (companion's) wake.
