Ballistic Bloodshed | Soma Prime Viral Slash IncarnON and IncarnOFF Variants

This is specifically for Steel Path Grineer or Corrupted. For Steel Path corpus build click here: https://overframe.gg/build/231627/

UPDATE 22 JUNE 2023 - Hata Satya now works on incarnon mode

EVOLUTIONS:

Evolution II: Both evolutions work well:

  • Fortifying Bloodshed is very nice for constant passive shield gating as every kill via Bleed DoT generates 100 shield. This is amazing for shield gating and endurance setups.

  • Fortress Salvo gives +4 puncthrough which is AMAZING, but requires you to either mod armor or run a frame with high base armor. The following frames require NO additional armor mods or abilities to hit 450 (Atlas/Atlas Prime, Lavos, Nidus/Nidus Prime, Valkyr/Valkyr Prime), while the following frames need can hit >450 armor with an ability active (Chroma/Chroma Prime with Vex Armor or Cold Ward active, Oberon with Iron Renewal/[Hallowed Reckoning], [Wukong] with Defy, [Vauban] with Bastille, [Inaros] with Scarab Swarm, [Rhino] with Ironclad Charge). Other universal sources of armor that easily exceed 450 armor include any of the base armor mods, Warcry/Defy/Elemental Ward/Parasitic armor subsume, Arcane Guardian/Reaper/Ultimatum/Tanker, Mecha Pulse with Mecha set/kubrow,

Evolution III: Down to preference but Kinetic Battle -50% recoil feels the best.

Evolution IV: After maths, Fresh Havoc gives on average 30% more DPS compared to Fatal Aflection and Zeroed in. This simply requires you to reload from empty 2 times for a persistent +12 flat base dmg buff that lasts until you die.

TL:DR - Highest possible DPS on most frames is incarnon Soma Prime running Hata-Satya and no Galv Aptitude

MOD BREAKDOWN

  • Damage: Base damage is completely provided by Primary Merciless. [Serration] and [Heavy Caliber] do NOT need to be added as they are further additive and have diminishing returns relative to other mods options. Currently [Galvanized Aptitude] is BUGGED on Incarnon's, not taking into account any flat base dmg buffs such as from Fortifying Bloodshed (+10) or Fresh Havoc (+12), meaning Galv Aptitude only has approximately 30% of its intended effect. If this gets fixed, then we may need to slot Galvanized Aptitude back in over the Primed Shred or Bane slot.

  • Multishot: [Galvanized Chamber] alone provides +230% multishot at maximum stacks. Do NOT stack [Vigilante Armaments] as you are again getting diminishing returns and run out of mod space, getting from only 230% to 290%. At 230%, every bullet now produces 3 bullets with a 30% chance for 4 bullets.

  • Crit Chance: [Hata-Satya] augment increases CC by 1.2% per bullet hit. With max multishot, each shot produces 3 bullets minimum meaning a 3.6% increase per hit. From full spool, you need to land at most 42 hits to match point strike which is +150%. With 30% chance to get 4 bullets, this could be cut down to about 30-40 hits. By 60 hits, your crit bonus will be +252% which equates to 106% crit chance, or Guaranteed yellow crits. This means you want to aim and make sure you hit your target to maximise the crit gain on remaining bullets in your magazine. The maximum possible crit bonus of +500% or 180% final CC (mostly orange crits), can be reached after hitting about 100-140 enemies or after more than half the clip has been emptied. Stacking [Point Strike] on top of this gives a +53% difference at 60 hits or +45% difference at max bonus, which is nice but doesn't produce as great an effect as other mod options. Galvanized Scope is NOT recommended because it does not stack from kills via bleed DoT.

  • Crit Dmg: Vital Sense - self explanatory mandatory mod

  • Slash: [Hunter Munitions] is used to create slash procs and requires crits to function. Slash procs bypass armor so you will mostly be relying on slash procs to kill heavily armored enemies like Grineer/Corrupted. This means you don't need to keep shooting them, even just a short burst of 10 bullets could be enough to let slash procs build up and kill an enemy.

  • Faction mod: [Primed Bane Of Grineer] is multiplicative with damage mods meaning it results in a separate +55% damage bonus with +360% from merciless, giving 11.73x damage (compare this to [Serration] which only adds 165% to 360%, giving 625% total). Furthermore, banes 'double dip' on slash procs, meaning slash procs actually receive a 2.401x multiplier. If you don't own the primed version, you should still use regular bane of grineer since slash procs receive a 1.69x bonus. If you absolutely hate faction mods or don't own either, just put Serration/Amalgam Serration or Point Strike/Crit Delay over this slot.

  • Viral: If you don't have an outside source of viral (e.g. secondary primer or [Panzer Vulpaphyla]), you will need to be able to proc viral on the weapon by adding [Malignant Force] and [Rime Rounds]. You want higher status so you can hit max viral and IPS status quickly, meaning [Primed Cryo Rounds] and 90% elementals are NOT better. At max viral stacks (x10), we magnify damage to health by slash procs by 4.25x. This means with primed bane and max viral, each slash proc gets multiplied by 10x!

If you can get external viral reliably or don't mind priming, then you can drop the elemental mods and instead use point strike/critical delay and primed shred/[Vile Acceleration]. The maximum possible crit chance reached with 500% from augment and 200% from crit delay is 240% crit chance, or guaranteed orange crits with a chance for reds. Primed Shred is amazing since punchthrough allots bullets to hit a second target or more with the same bullet, building up Hata-Satya even faster.

  • Fire Rate: Use [Primed Shred] if not running Fortress Salvo perk. Use Vile acceleration if running Fortress Salvo with enough armor to activate +4 punchthrough perk.

  • Arcane: Primary Merciless provides the base damage and procs on bleed DoT kills, while Deadhead does not. Primary Plated Rounds gives a higher possible dmg buff +466% but this only lasts for 10s and doesn't affect the Incarnon mode. This means you will need to empty the entire clip in one go to take full advantage of the buff which is bit of ammo waste.

Riven:
Generally due to the poor disposition, you do NOT want more damage or multishot since they just add with diminishing returns.
MS/CD/CC/punchthrough/firerate are the most desired stats for soma. Ideally, you coul also have toxin +/- cold so you can replace one or both of the elemental mods.

ELEMENTAL VARIATIONS FOR FACTIONS

  • Grineer/Corrupted: Use Viral Hunter munitions as above
  • Corpus: Use pure toxin to bypass shields. Swap HM and Rime Rounds for Infected Clip and Serration/Galvanized Aptitude or Point Strike.
  • Infested (particularly cambion drift): Use Corrosive. Swap HM and Rime Rounds for Stormbringer and Serration/[Galvanized Aptitude] or [Point Strike]
