The idea is to ignore completely enemies and lasers in spy missions, but still be able to kill the acolyte if he spawns.

If you are already stacked in melee combo, leave rift plane, prime and spam melee a few time, then re-enter the rift. Gas damage will do its effect while you're invincible.

Arcane Consequence is also an option.
