Just fire one orb and let it explode. Create a vortex when you need more AoE or more damage. With multishot around 100% (Split Chamber or Riven), you only need to fire twice to create a vortex (or once with Mirage).

viral -> corrosive: with forced elec proc on explosion, it's better to scale elec. and having some corrosive proc to reduce armor is better against grineer, unless you have a way to strip armor. Still possible to do viral/elec with this layout. Move [High Voltage] to [Primed Shred] slot and put [Primed Cryo Rounds] in its place.
[Primed Shred] to compensate [Critical Delay], and Punch Through prevents projectiles from boucing off close enemies.
