Trickster God: An All Purpose Loki Build (Invisibility + Disarm)

Trickster God: An All-Purpose [Loki] Build (Invisibility + Disarm)

A balanced build focusing on both invisibility AND disarm, enough to easily survive endgame content while benefiting your team with Radial Disarm. Works for almost everything(yes, even railjack).
This is the prime build version for [Loki], so this assumes that you have access to primed mods.

(Build Explanation at the Bottom)

The Purpose of This Build:

"What the ancients called a clever fighter is one who not only wins, but excels in winning with ease" - Sun Tzu

If there was such a fighter in Warframe, it would be [Loki]. He can complete almost all missions quite easily and without dying, especially with his Radial Disarm and Invisibility.

The purpose of this build is to provide [Loki] players a balanced, effective build that can beat endgame content comfortably; even though he is already strong enough without modding. This build focuses on both invisibility and disarm aspect of [Loki], so players can use it for a wide variety of content. This build is also designed to have an expanded energy pool and regeneration rate so that ability management is easier.

This guide is primarily for players that don't know much about [Loki] or how to play him, so if you're experienced at using him feel free to skip down below to the build explanations.

What is [Loki]? What Type of Frame is He?

[Loki] can be classified as a stealth warframe, however, he is really a hybrid of CC, Stealth, and Utility. He can cloak himself for a long time, making enemies unable to target him. He has a unique crowd control that allows him to render enemies harmless. He can dish out decent melee damage thanks to his stealth multiplier. Should it be necessary, he can also step in to revive his downed teammates without pulling any aggro towards himself. Obviously, he can ace Spy missions with no hassle.

What Makes Him Unique?

[Loki] is an amazing frame to use, because his abilities are "pure" and don't require much modding. Since his kit only has indirect abilities that don't deal damage, there isn't much of a need for increasing ability strength. He can pretty much stay invincible with his invisibility with good positioning, and his radial disarm is an effective CC. He's also pretty fast; his movespeed is second only to [Gauss], if that's your thing.

Abilities:

Passive: Wall Latch
[Loki]'s wall latch lasts 10 times longer than normal.

Good for riven challenges, or if you run out of invisibility and want to stay inconspicuous. Don't forget he can also use abilities while latched.

  1. Decoy
    25 Energy
[Loki] summons a decoy with 400 shields and 200 health.

It attracts aggro from enemies, and that's pretty much it. Don't use this in higher level missions because it will get killed pretty fast. Else, you can use it to bypass Corpus laser barriers in Spy missions by placing it and then Switch teleporting.

  1. Invisibility
    50 Energy
[Loki] turns invisible for ~33 seconds(12 without modding). He can still move and attack, as well as interact with the environment or other players. Enemies can't see you nor target you, but be sure to keep moving to minimize your chances of getting hit by a stray bullet. Recast when you're almost out.

Also, keep in mind that using your primary or secondary to kill enemies is less risky than getting close and personal with melee, because you may get caught in crossfire.

  1. Switch Teleport
    25 Energy
[Loki] changes places with a target within range.

This can be used for allies; however, note that being switch teleported constantly is annoying to allies, so don't switch teleport them unless they're downed. You can also target specific enemies that are giving your teammates trouble.

  1. Radial Disarm
    100 Energy
[Loki] releases a wave of energy that disarms all enemies within a wide range of ~40 m and forces them to use melee. Most Ospreys will be forced to the ground permanently and the weapons system on MOAs are disabled. The disarmed effect lasts forever on enemies caught in the blast. It also deals a tiny amount of impact damage. The augment in the build, [Irradiating Disarm], disarms enemies and makes them fight each other with the Radiation proc.

This is [Loki]'s piece de resistance, and it should not be neglected or ignored. This is the piece in [Loki]'s kit that makes him so effective in CC. Remember to use it whenever a group of ranged enemies are pressuring your teammates. There are only a few circumstances when RD would actually hinder your team(more on those below)

Mission Specifics:

General:

In all missions, you should have your invisibility up 90% of the time, the only time when you would stop casting invisibility is a) if there are no enemies around, b) you've run out of energy (which shouldn't be that much of a problem with this build, or c) you've accidentally come into contact with a nullifier or [Disruptor].

In the case of a), you should be fine, but keep in mind that invisibility has a .75 cast delay and the cast animation makes you stay put when you are on the ground. For this reason, I cast my invisibility mid-air.

For all missions, if you're getting swamped by enemies don't forget your Radial Disarm, it is an immensely useful CC. And remember, when you're invisible doing higher level missions, crossfire = death, because [Loki] is squishy. Remember to also pick up energy orbs often so you don't get energy starved.

Defense:

Always make sure to use radial disarm to take care of big clumps of enemies, particularly ranged high DPS enemies.

A radial disarming [Loki] is always welcome on Defense missions; however, when there is a cataclysm or snow globe surrounding the target, you should only use it when you're away from the cryopod, so it doesn't render the above defenses useless.

Also, stay a decent distance from the cryopod and your teammates- crossfire is pretty much the only thing that can kill [Loki] if he has his invisibility on.

Spy:

A neat trick you can use as [Loki] is to place a decoy beyond the laser barrier, then switch teleport, letting you pass easily. Otherwise, you can also hack while you're invisible, so Spy missions should be easy.

Remember that the stealth damage multiplier affects [Loki]'s melee, so you should be able to kill enemies quickly if need be.

Interception:

Yes, [Loki] can capture points while invisible. His radial disarm also prevents all disarmed enemies from accessing the capture point console.

However, normal melee units can still use the console to capture points.

Exterminate:

RD those enemy groups, shoot them to death. Rinse, repeat.

Sabotage:

Like Spy, but you need to shoot stuff. Invisibility should be up almost always, as usual.

Cetus Bounties:

You can switch teleport the drone during bounties to save time.

Empyrean/Railjack

With the rise of the Empyrean gamemode, [Loki]'s usefulness has been boosted even further. He can deal with enemy boarding parties quite easily with his Radial Disarm, making him very useful to have on board the railjack.

If you would rather let somebody else deal with boarding parties, he can use invisibility to simply ignore the enemy and focus on the objective. Not only can he be a good crewmember, but he can also board and destroy enemy ships with no hassle thanks to his invisibility.

Whatever Intrinsic class you choose, Loki will be a great fit.

(Extensive Loki Railjack Guide May Be Coming Soon Here- his frame has seen a minor surge in use because of Empyrean)

Build Explanation:

[Energy Siphon]: Helps regain energy faster, especially when paired with [Coaction Drift]. [Loki] already has an expanded energy pool, so he shouldn't get starved easily, but this helps a lot with Spy missions where you don't really kill as many enemies, so you don’t get much energy orbs. With [Coaction Drift], [Loki] regenerates ~25 energy every 30 seconds, which should help with the cost of invisibility.

[Coaction Drift]: Great synergy with [Energy Siphon], boosts [Loki]'s energy [Regen] rate to .7935 for himself, and .69 for his teammates. Mainly so he doesn't get energy starved, but it also benefits his squadmates as well.

[Narrow Minded]: This is really the only mod that will significantly boost duration at the cost of range.

[Overextended]: Cancels out the negative stat on Narrow minded and adds a bit more range at the cost of Strength. Strength doesn't matter the least to Loki's builds- it only affects the tiny impact damage that Radial Disarm causes.

[Flow]: When you're out in a mission with high bloodshed, with energy orbs dropping frequently, it only makes sense to have an expanded energy pool so you can store more energy for Invisibility/Radial Disarm. High bloodshed missions are [Loki]'s favorite, because there is no lack of energy, therefore he can stay invisible indefinitely.

[Irradiating Disarm]: Lots of [Loki] mains really like this augment, and for good reason. This disarms enemies, but also affects them with the Confusion status, which makes them fight each other. The really nice thing is that the Confusion proc is affected by duration, so if you use this build you could just watch enemies have a go at each other for ~22 seconds. Bring popcorn.

[Continuity]: For the duration(duh). I fitted as much duration as I could for this build.

[Stretch]: To add more range to his Radial Disarm.

[Augur Message]: Duration.

[Augur Reach] Range.

Arcanes: These are really just a matter of preference; however, note that normally good arcanes such as Arcane [Guardian] and Arcane Grace don't really benefit [Loki] as much as they should, because he doesn't take much damage if played right. So here I opted for more DPS arcanes to make up for [Loki]'s lack of offense.

##Alternate Builds:

[Corrosive Projection]: You can't go wrong with this, especially late game and railjack. If you don't have energy problems, feel free to use this as an aura instead. Quick note though; keep [Coaction Drift], it'll bump up your enemy armor reduction by ~10%

[Vigilante Pursuit] Like all AoE abilities, Radial Disarm benefits greatly from [Enemy Radar], which lets you see enemies grouped together on your map. This is more useful if you're new to the game and you haven't gotten the hang of enemy spawning patterns yet. The 5% crit chance is a small bonus.

[Hushed Invisibility]: This augment, at its max, masks 100% weapon noise, letting you pick off enemies stealthily with your primary. Why use this? Because [Loki] is a bit weak on the DPS side(unless you count his 700% melee damage bonus from Invisibility), and so he doesn't have to waste a slot for [Hush] on his primary and secondary builds. Good if you want to squeeze out as much damage as you can for your weapons, but I personally prefer [Irradiating Disarm], partly because it's more enjoyable to use.

Other Ability Augments: I personally don't think they're worth it, but you can put them in if you want to.

Good Luck, Tenno!
