[Nyx] has several ways to crowd control and kill enemies by using secondary effects from her base abilities. We subsume an additional CC ability to wrangle enemies.
Ensnare is chosen because it's the easiest ability to use against general content. Larva is another good choice but has less range. [Rage] from Rest & [Rage] can make enemies kill each other more quickly if you're determined to make that work.
Mind Control is usually the ability that should be replaced unless you're doing a gimmicky [Mind Freak] build.
[Assimilate] allows you to drop survivability mods to focus on rounding out the kit. Make sure that you supplement your decreased movement speed with some form of tertiary movement like void dashing or melee combos. Any of the other augments can be substituted in but you'll be relying on your CC abilities to stay alive.
Strength can be dropped to 124% to strip 99% of armor rather than 100%. Against the vast majority of enemies this allows you to abuse counter elements to do more damage than fully stripping their armor and losing Health Type modifiers. This isn't a good decision against shielded enemies due to shield gating. My suggestion to [Reach] 124% is replacing [Umbral Intensify] with [Augur Secrets] and dropping [Overextended] and [Transient Fortitude] by one rank.
[Enemy Radar] mods help you and your team to find enemies. The nature of this build forces you to sometimes track down stragglers.
Arcane Avenger can still proc even while under the influence of Absorb. Any other arcane can be chosen to suit your playstyle.
