Warframe is now live on Nintendo Switch 2, making Digital Extremes' free-to-play looter shooter available on every major gaming platform simultaneously for the first time in the game's 13-year history.
The Switch 2 version launches today alongside Update 42: The Shadowgrapher, meaning new players jumping in on Nintendo's latest hardware get the full current build from day one. Digital Extremes says the Switch 2 version comes with improved FPS, resolution, load times, textures, and shader quality compared to the original Switch version, and supports Joy-Con 2 mouse controls.
Cross Platform Play and Cross Platform Save are both fully supported, so Switch 2 players can squad up with friends on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, iOS, Android, and the original Nintendo Switch without any friction. Your account progress moves with you across platforms.

Players who log into Warframe on a Nintendo Switch 2 console between now and April 15 at 11 AM ET will receive the exclusive Ambimanus Pack, which includes a free Warfan weapon skin, an Ephemera, a Sigil, and resource boosters. These items are also available through Varzia's offerings for Aya on all other platforms.
"Warframe is officially live on every major gaming platform with full cross-play and save, which feels absolutely wild to say about a game in its 13th year," said Rebecca Ford, Creative Director at Digital Extremes. The studio has been working toward full platform parity for years and today marks the completion of that goal.
If you're new to Warframe on Switch 2, the timing couldn't be better. The Awakening quest received a full visual remaster in today's update, with new tiles, revised tutorial pacing, re-recorded Lotus dialogue, and updated lighting throughout. It's the cleanest the new player experience has ever been.
