Nintendo Switch 2 Gets Warframe the Same Day as The Shadowgrapher Update Complete with Celebratory Goodies

Warframe is officially heading to Nintendo Switch 2 on March 25, arriving alongside The Shadowgrapher update and marking another major platform expansion for Digital Extremes’ long running sci fi action game.

Announced during Devstream 193 and detailed further by Digital Extremes, the new version is not a simple port but a native release built to take advantage of the upgraded hardware. The Switch 2 edition is targeting 1080p resolution and 60 FPS performance, alongside features such as DLSS support, enhanced shaders, volumetric lighting, and higher resolution textures.

Additional visual upgrades include improved decals, sun shadows in docked mode, faster loading times, and improved audio quality, all designed to better support Warframe’s fast paced movement and effects heavy combat. The version also supports Joy Con 2 mouse functionality, offering an alternate control method aimed at improving aiming precision and menu navigation.

Digital Extremes confirmed that the Switch 2 launch will coincide with The Shadowgrapher update, meaning players jumping in on the new platform will arrive at the same moment as existing Tenno welcoming the game’s 64th Warframe, Follie, and her accompanying content. Launching both together ensures parity across platforms and reinforces the studio’s continued focus on cross platform play and progression.

To celebrate the launch window, players who log into the Nintendo Switch 2 version between March 25 and April 15 will receive the free Ambimanus Pack, which includes the Vericres Warfan, Akomeogi Warfan Skin, Slicing Feathers Mod, boosters, and additional cosmetics.

Warframe’s arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 comes hot on the heels of Digital Extreme's recent Android release which brought a ton of new Tenno into the game. More than a decade after its original debut, the free to play title continues to expand its reach, making great strides across all platforms, while still keeping players connected via cross play and cross save.

With The Shadowgrapher update and the Switch 2 launch sharing the same March 25 date, it stands to reason that Digital Extreme's is positioning 2026 to be a year of unfettered growth.
