Diabolical Aegis Gale Build

This build is inspired by the YouTubers “Kyaii”, who is the first person I saw create it, and “MHBlacky”, who expanded on the idea with their own version, referencing Kyaii as his inspiration. This is my own variation of the build, and while I’ve taken most of the elements from the other two, I’ve changed a few things up to accommodate my own playstyle.

The main gameplay loop is hitting 2 to gain thousands, if not tens of thousands, of shield and also armor strip, and then stay in your 4 and his alt fire anything and everything that moves. No shot this doesn’t get nerfed at some point, it’s honestly pretty ridiculous.

ALSO IN THIS BUILD:
My Balefire charger Prime (Essential!)

My Raksa Kubrow (His name is Chat):

His claws (Not essential, but helps):

AURA

  • [Corrosive Projection]: Paired with the high power on Hildryn’s pillage, you’ll be able to armor strip most enemies in 1 or 2 casts, maybe 3 if you're facing level cap.

EXILUS

  • [Aviator]: Although I [Hate] to lose out on more strength, the 40% damage reduction from this is very attractive when you consider that you will be in Aegis Storm almost all the time, and this is worth much more to your shields than the 15% you would get from Power Drift with our Arcane Expertise arcane.

  • [Power Drift]: I primarily pick this for the 15% strength, but the knockdown resist is subtly useful as well. If I wasn’t running Aviator, this would be my second pick.

  • [Cunning Drift]: The main benefit here is the range boost, which increases the blast radius of our balefire charger, as well as pillage. The other two perks aren’t crazy, but it’s an option.

MODS

  • [Overextended]: A big range boost mostly helps with pillage, which is also aided by duration, but the strength loss definitely does hurt a bit. You can swap this with anything else that gives range if you’d prefer and it likely won’t hurt the overall build too dramatically.

  • [Primed Redirection]: Easy pick; Hildryn has crazy shields, so any percent increase gives a ton more, and this will feed into Aegis Gale nicely.

  • [Umbral Intensify]: Anything with a strength boost fits nicely into the build. I’ve seen [Precision Intensify] used in place of this, but even though it gives more strength, it will deactivate every time you use pillage, causing you to have to constantly come in and out of Aegis Storm every 5 seconds.

  • [Blind Rage]: A solid strength boost, and since pillage generates endless shields, low efficiency doesn’t hinder this build whatsoever,

  • [Stretch]: Another modest range boost. You could swap it if there’s something you know would work better, but definitely don’t swap it if you already dropped overextended!

  • [Primed Continuity]: Duration helps with pillage a ton, as well as a few subsumes like Chroma’s elemental ward, which I plan to add to this build later.

  • [Aegis Gale]: This is the cornerstone of the build! With the strength increases we'll be stacking, the damage on this will be absurd. Furthermore, the increases to our shields from Arcane expertise also translate into damage, as 15% of our max shield becomes damage for [Aegis Gale]. The weapon itself, the [Balefire Charger], will be built for as much multishot and blast radius as possible to clear rooms as fast as enemies can spawn, I’ll link a build for that too somewhere in this guide.

  • Transient Fortitude: The duration is offset by primed continuity, and the strength boost is a welcome addition.

ARCANES

  • Arcane Expertise: Besides [Aegis Gale], this is the other item we’re building around. We are stacking as much strength as possible to increase [Aegis Gale]’s damage, and because it also gets to add 15% of your max shield to damage, Arcane Expertise essentially lets you double dip on [Aegis Gale]’s damage by utilizing our strength to fuel our shields, further increasing the damage, and also giving us more energy and durability.

  • Molt Augmented: This won’t always max out in quick missions, but for anything endurance, this will gradually ramp up your strength, which will fuel shields using Arcane Expertise; both of which further strengthen [Aegis Gale].

ARCHON SHARDS
I use 5 tauforged red to get +75% ability strength, which doubles as 75% more shield, which once again feeds into [Aegis Gale]’s damage. If you prefer, you can swap one or two for a tauforged amber for parkour velocity, though with an offhand [Okina Prime] Incarnon using swordsman’s celerity, you can get +30% movement speed, which is enough for me.

CLOSING NOTES
Weapons: I haven’t built any weapons to use with this build yet, but I believe ninjase did a thorough breakdown of what would synergies well either on his Overframe or YouTube.

Companion (tldr: Raksa Kubro): As for the pet, I’ve seen recommendations for a variety while researching content and comments from YouTube, Overframe, and Reddit. While I usually just settle for my [Panzer Vulpaphyla] since it works fine on any build, I think the Raksa Kubro is a very solid choice here. I’ll probably make a separate guide for that build, but the gist of it is that [Link Redirection] gives 125% of our shields to our pet (easily over 15,000), and [Reinforced Bond] will boost our balefire chargers fire rate by 60% as a result. Also, with protect it will restore 30% of it's max shield to both of us every few seconds, which comes out to like 4,000-6,000 depending on how much of the build you have, I know the tauforged reds especially are a big ask.
