Ultimate Umbral Frost

ULTIMATE UMBRAL [Frost] BUILD

This is resource heavy (Umbral Forma + 5 other Forma), requires subsumed ability (Pillage) and specific build requirements. It is for..."endgame". This build offers you Utility, Power, Tankiness and Full Armor Strip. It does all this while keeping every skill viable and usable. Duration only affects freeze and slow times and you will be killing them faster than it matters to even have longer freeze time. No more specialized Globe or direct fighting builds being separate, this one does it ALL.

  • Utility - This build will allow you to briefly freeze and slow enemies (Avalanche and Ice Wave respectively) although Ice Wave's initial slow is hardly even noticeable, start the mission with full energy pool (Preparation) and generate energy (Arcane Energize and Zenurik Focus).

  • Power - This build utilizes 245% power strength naturally and 270% with [Growing Power] active which it will likely be most of the time. This means your skills will work to their full effectiveness.

  • Tankiness - Bringing [Frost] back to the realm of "TANK" again. Starting off with Pillage. Your subsumed ability replacing Freeze. This skill will allow you to keep your shields topped off while also granting over shields of 1700+. [Adaptation] works on these shields as well as your 1000 health. On top of your health is also 825 armor (jumping to a whopping 1725 with Arcane [Guardian] active, which it will be most of the time). Together it will give you 7275 eHP and thats BEFORE the overshields and Adaptation.

  • Full Armor Strip - Once you proc [Growing Power] let loose Avalanche (4th Skill) for a 108% armor strip.

Other Points

It is HIGHLY recommended that you run Arcane Energize and Zenurik focus. This is a semi power hungry build but these 2 things will keep it managed nicely. [Preparation] is optional as well but it is very nice to be able to jump straight into the action without worry. If you don't have the Arcane or Focus, I recommend [Dethcube] with [Energy Generator] as a replacement. It's probably a bit overkill but it helps to keep spamming your abilities.

[Streamline] is a flex Naramon slot. I run [Streamline] but that is personal preference I like the spammability for Avalanche, Ice Wave and Pillage. From full energy you get about 6 casts of Avalanche with [Streamline] versus 4 casts without. Some people may want a bigger Globe range with [Stretch] and that's totally fine. Other options could include: [Handspring], [Natural Talent] or [Vigilante Pursuit]. Or you could forma it completely different.

In order to maximize the health of your Globe, you need to get both the Arcane [Guardian] and [Growing Power] buffs. This will get you somewhere in the neighborhood of 32K Globe health. This is not the highest Globe health you could get but Globe is stackable and there is no need to specialize and lose out on the rest of your skills. Another noteworthy thing about Globe in this build is that with the removal of Freeze you won't be able to pop your Globes. You will have to place them strategically. I have brought this issue up on the forums and I hope it will get fixed where we are not dependent on Freeze to pop them.

This build is free on the weapons you bring. However, Viral and Slash work very well with the armor strip from Avalanche. In my case, I loadout [Frost] with [Glaxion Vandal] (Thematically good and I have a nice riven for it) with Hunter Munitions and Viral, Akarius (My "snowball" launchers) with Viral and Heat and trusty ol' Golok, my machete zaw Viral/Slash build.

Another option for subsumed ability could be Elemental Ward (Cold). This would add more armor and [Reflect] bullets. This needs testing. I went with Pillage because it can reduce shielded enemies shields and I feel like it was more manageable but mostly because not all enemies attack with bullets so I feel its better to have Tangible eHP than bullet [Reflect].
