As mentioned in the title, this build is currently untested. In the offchance that other people see this, take it with a grain of salt.
I wanted a secondary specifically designed for killing Acolytes in my usually ability-based Exaclibur loadout. I'm trying to go for some high single-target damage, and as best as I understand attentuation, high crit and [Leaded Gas]' HUGE Gas procs should be less penalized or not reduced at all in the complicated equation for Damage Attentuation.
The idea is that once an Acolyte is about to spawn (having announced itself through its comm lines), I pop an enemy in the head to activate my buffs and then dump headshots on the Acolyte until it dies. I might need a source of Cold status to keep the Acolytes in a shootable state, but that depends entirely on my aim (which hasn't felt too bad from my limited Steel Path endurance runs so far).
Considering that I also lack the two secondary Primed mods that effect crits, there's a chance that the Vesper simply doesn't cut it, in which case I'll just default to some kind of AoE Secondary weapon.
