MFD Alternative

This is a build for [Zakti] that is supposed to be used in conjunction with the helminth ability Marked For Death (MFD). This is essentially the weaker alternative to my MFD Dizzying Rounds Bronco build. So I recommend you look at that before resorting to this one.

This is not about dealing damage with [Zakti], but rather opening enemies up to finishers (the explosion innately does that), which is amazing for prepping MFD.

Usage Guide

Step 1. Shoot (while aiming) at an enemy so the dart actually hits them
Step 2. Use MFD on that enemy
Step 2.5. Wait for the dart to explode (if it hasn't already)
Step 3. Run up and perform a finisher
Step 4. Profit

It is worth noting that you can self-stagger with the dart explosion so just keep that in mind.

Status

This build makes the [Zakti] have a decent chance to proc (on average) at least 1 of each of the 4 statuses available in 1 shot. There are 2 ways we are going about to proc statuses (assuming all projectiles hit):

  1. The dart hitting the enemy:
  • Impact: Guaranteed chance
  • Puncture: 110% chance
  • Viral: 115.8% chance
  1. The 1 second delayed explosion from the dart:
  • Gas: 120.2% chance
  • Viral: 144.3% chance

This equates to a 480% increase to melee damage if you're using [Condition Overload] (which you should be if you're running this set up) on top of the health damage boost from the viral stacks (up to 325% at 10 stacks).

It is worth noting that despite some of the chances being above 100% it doesn't mean that it is guaranteed to proc. There is a very very small chance that you won't proc at least 1 of that damage type. It is a very very small chance and is quite improbable.

Riven

This can be optimized even further with a riven, but it isn't necessary (albeit slightly more necessary in comparison to my Bronco build). If you got a riven, I would suggest you replace Lethal Torrent with it. You'll want to get a riven that is maxed out and with these mods:

  • +Multishot
  • +Status Chance
  • -Weapon Recoil (not needed but is nice if you can get it)
  • -Impact (try to get it at or above 100%)

This will make your [Zakti] proc the necessary statuses more reliably than normal (for the [Condition Overload] bonus). Since the [Zakti] guarantees an impact proc on the dart hitting the enemy (regardless of our impact damage stat), it's in our best interest to remove all impact from the weapon so we can proc puncture and viral more reliably.

You can swap viral for magnetic if, for some reason, you're up against heavily shielded corpus enemies that you can't delete in a second.

Mod Choices

[Suppress] is not entirely necessary but it's more of a luxury so you can do your invis thing easier and it's useful to use this on frames like [Ivara] which are sensitive to alarming weapons. An alternative to [Suppress] would be [Reflex Draw] or [Steady Hands].

[Amalgam Barrel Diffusion] is on there because I like to use [Rolling Guard] on my invis frames (and I would only use this on invis frames) so that extra speed is very useful. You can replace this with regular [Barrel Diffusion] if you either don't have the Amalgam one or if you don't really care about the rolling speed boost.

If you don't have [Jugulus Spines] then you can supplement it with a puncture mod of your choosing. It won't be as effective, but it's something.

We don't use Fulmination because it'll end up causing us to self-stagger more when in close quarters.
