Equinox Gameplay Guide

[Equinox] has two separate and distinct kits that she can swap between at her leisure. Night Form is more defensive and provides several different forms of survivability and crowd control. Day Form focuses on offense and provides damage buffs along with a scaling nuke. The weakness of these varying playstyles are their inability to be used at the same time.

📝 Build Overview 📝

This build uses [Maim] from the Day form to do a scaling nuke. It shines when paired with another frame with a similar nuke setup as it allows you to quickly wipe entire rooms with little effort. Another Equinox with this exact same build is usually the frame to pair with this strategy.

🔢 Helminth Options 🔢

Rest & [Rage] provides little benefit to a nuke build. Pacify & Provoke is also weak but it can benefit from outside Strength bonuses to give a small Strength bonus to the team.

Quiver gives you and your nuke partner complete invisibility at the cost of a more demanding energy economy.

Dispensary provides free health, ammo, and energy in content that doesn't readily provide any of those. This can be combined with [Equinox]'s passive or the [Equilibrium] mod to get even more free energy.

Lull and Silence give some crowd control potential in missions where Quiver is too passive and stationary to be effective.

Other quality of life abilities are decent but provide a lot of redundancy due to the existence of operator mode and the previously mentioned abilities. Buffs are too weak due to our ability Strength.

📊 Ability Stats 📊

Range is the primary focus of this build with some mild investment into Duration and Efficiency. This comes at the cost of Strength due to a lack of mod slots.

⏲️ Duration ⏲️

Duration is boosted to help your subsumed ability and your energy economy. It should be tailored to whichever ability you've chosen to subsume rather than her base kit.

⛽ Efficiency ⛽

Efficiency is increased by a bit to keep her energy economy in check. [Streamline] becomes a flex mod if you're confident in your energy economy. In extremely optimal setups you won't have Maim activated for more than a few seconds at a time so maximized efficiency is an option in those scenarios.

📏 Range 📏

Range is max so that your nuke is able to hit more enemies. It also increases the range of Maim's damage absorption. Cunning Drift and Augur Reach are flex mods on small tilesets.

💪 Strength 💪

Strength is nearly useless on this build and we run no mods that increase it. Some subsumed quality of life abilities can mildly benefit from some Strength investment but it probably isn't worth the opportunity cost from lost mod slots.

↔️ Alternate Playstyles ↔️

Most builds utilize tools that can be swapped out to serve the same purpose albeit in a different manner. The following suggestions are an outline and aren't exhaustive.

🔧 Mods 🔧

  • [Enemy Radar] helps you and your team to find enemies. This is especially important on runs in The Index that aren't abusing spawn manipulation. It can be replaced if there's sufficient Enemy Radar range to see enemies on the entire map.
  • Cunning Drift, Augur Reach, and Streamline are flex mods depending on how you're piloting the build.
  • Natural Talent is a large increase in quality of life but it isn't necessary in optimal setups.
  • Rolling Guard is our primary form of survivability but it can be replaced if you're relying on invisibility or operator mode.
  • [Energy Transfer] is primary used to stack the Bleed effect from high Strength [Maim] builds and isn't useful on this build. Other augments can be run if you're looking for additional quality of life.

⚙️ Arcanes ⚙️

Arcane Energize synergizes with [Primed Flow] and keeps your energy topped off. It can be replaced if you have other strong forms of energy recovery either through abilities or other energy support frames. Offensive arcanes like Arcane Avenger or Arcane Strike are usually the call.

Arcane Aegis grants a massive survivability increase when it procs. It can be replaced if you're having issues with consistency in activating it. Tertiary defensive arcanes like Arcane Guardian or Arcane Grace are usually the call.

📋 Final Notes 📋

Metamorphosis isn't necessary to utilize either set of abilities. [Equinox] begins a mission in Day or Night form depending on her primary emission color. This allows you to replace Metamorphosis if you're only planning on using a single form throughout the entire mission.

[Equilibrium] is the name of [Equinox]'s passive and the mod that provides a stronger version of the same effect. Both synergize with builds that farm health orbs through various means. Dispensary provides a boosted health orb that correctly converts to a boosted energy bonus. [Synth Fiber] allows you to pick up health orbs even when you're completely full on health so that you can benefit from the energy.
