Equinox Gameplay Guide

[Equinox] has two separate and distinct kits that she can swap between at her leisure. Night Form is more defensive and provides several different forms of survivability and crowd control. Day Form focuses on offense and provides damage buffs along with a scaling nuke. The weakness of these varying playstyles are their inability to be used at the same time.

📝 Build Overview 📝

This build uses [Rage] from Rest & [Rage] to increase your damage against enemies and speed up bosses with invulnerability phases. This is primarily used against Lephantis or Hemocyte style bosses but it can work against almost any enemy.

🔢 Helminth Options 🔢

Mend & Main is too expensive and doesn't have an effects against bosses on this build. Metamorphosis can also be replaced as we're only using Day form.

Empower increases the damage vulnerability and speed bonus from [Rage]. There are other forms of damage buffs that outpace it but the speed bonus is unique.

Shuriken can be used with the [Seeking Shuriken] augment to strip enemy armor for easier damage phases. Fire Blast is similar but can be far too expensive on this setup.

Roar, Eclipse, and [Xata]'s Whisper grant far more damage than Empower but it may be overkill due to the numerous other forms of damage buffs from other sources.

Other quality of life abilities are decent but provide a lot of redundancy due to the existence of operator mode and the previously mentioned abilities.

📊 Ability Stats 📊

Strength is the primary focus of this build at the cost of Efficiency and Duration. Range is kept at the baseline to allow Rage to target enemies from further away.

⏲️ Duration ⏲️

Duration is slightly hurt by [Transient Fortitude] but it shouldn't matter as [Rage] should last for the entire invulnerability phase. Against some bosses it can be intentionally lowered again by Fleeting Expertise if you're having issues with the boss cycles too quickly through phases.

⛽ Efficiency ⛽

Efficiency is lowered by [Blind Rage] but your energy economy should still be fine. If you're still having issues you can replace a flex mod for Streamline or Fleeting Expertise. Replace Blind Rage isn't worth the massive damage and speed loss from Rage.

📏 Range 📏

Range is kept at the baseline to allow [Rage] to target bosses from much further away. Narrow Minded can be slotted over a flex mod slot if you're fine with getting closer to the enemy.

💪 Strength 💪

Strength is the most important stat as it governs how effective [Rage] is against the boss. There may be some diminishing returns with this much investment so you can replace Augur Secrets for other flex mods.

↔️ Alternate Playstyles ↔️

Most builds utilize tools that can be swapped out to serve the same purpose albeit in a different manner. The following suggestions are an outline and aren't exhaustive.

🔧 Mods 🔧

  • [Growing Power] grants more Strength for [Rage] and shouldn't be difficult to proc against most bosses. If you're having issues activating it you can replace it for any other aura that synergizes with your weapons.
  • Power Drift and Augur Secrets are the weakest Strength mods and can be replaced for additional quality of life.
  • Natural Talent isn't necessary and can be replaced with more Duration or Efficiency if you're okay with a slight casting delay.
  • [Rolling Guard] is our primary form of survivability in difficult boss fights but it can be replaced if you're playing a supportive role and using Operator mode.
  • [Peaceful Provocation] is a large Strength bonus when used with Day form's Provoke. Other augments can go into this slot for you subsumed abilities.

⚙️ Arcanes ⚙️

Arcane Energize synergizes with [Primed Flow] and keeps your energy topped off. It can be replaced if you have other strong forms of energy recovery either through abilities or other energy support frames. Offensive arcanes like Arcane Avenger or Arcane Arachne are usually the call.

Arcane Aegis grants a massive survivability increase when it procs. It can be replaced if you're having issues with consistency in activating it. Tertiary offensive arcanes like Arcane Rage or Arcane Precision are usually the call.

📋 Final Notes 📋

Metamorphosis isn't necessary to utilize either set of abilities. [Equinox] begins a mission in Day or Night form depending on her primary emission color. This allows you to replace Metamorphosis if you're only planning on using a single form throughout the entire mission.

[Equilibrium] is the name of [Equinox]'s passive and the mod that provides a stronger version of the same effect. Both synergize with builds that farm health orbs through various means. Dispensary provides a boosted health orb that correctly converts to a boosted energy bonus. [Synth Fiber] allows you to pick up health orbs even when you're completely full on health so that you can benefit from the energy.
