Banshee: Marked for Death - Finisher Nuke

Banshee Gameplay Guide

[Banshee] has a varied toolkit capable of multiplying damage, crowd controlling enemies, and nuking entire rooms. She also has some mild stealth capability through her sound manipulation but it's best used as a supportive survivability tool rather than a replacement for invisibility.

📝 Build Overview 📝

[Savage Silence] and Marked for Death allow [Banshee] to turn single target Finisher attacks into full room nukes. There's a few ways to pull this build off but this variant focuses on ease of use across all content.

🔢 Helminth Options 🔢

Sonic Boom is fairly weak without the [Sonic Fracture] augment and due to the Helminth system it can replaced by abilities that provide more flexible armor stripping options anyway.

Marked for Death is the primary Helminth option in this build. Breach Surge works conceptually the same but the damage potential is exponentially lower.

📊 Ability Stats 📊

Range and Strength are the primary focus in this build so that Marked for Death instantly kills every enemy in the room. Duration is intentionally dumped to utilize the stun from Silence.

Helminth Invigorations, Arbitration Buffs, Ally Abilities, Arcanes, and other external stat boosts can save you multiple mod slots but may rely on specific team compositions, loadouts, or sheer luck. Plan around these situations and modify your loadout to hit desired ability stat breakpoints.

⏲️ Duration ⏲️

Duration has negative synergy with this build so we take it down as low as possible. Silence forces a stun on enemies when it's first cast and we can use this to put enemies in a Finisher vulnerable state. Increasing it by even a small amount significantly impacts this interaction and isn't advised. This forces us to run a max rank Transient Fortitude and Fleeting Expertise.

⛽ Efficiency ⛽

Efficiency is boosted by [Fleeting Expertise] so it's always going to be above the baseline. [Streamline] or [Primed Flow] can be added over a flex mod to squeeze out even more casts but it shouldn't be necessary unless you're using the Blind Rage variant of this build.

📏 Range 📏

Range is important because Marked for Death only has a 10m base range. Keeping it above 20m with 200% or more range will be fine for nuking medium sized rooms. Augur Reach is a flex mod on smaller tilesets.

💪 Strength 💪

Strength should be at or above 200% so that Marked for Death hits its damage cap. Higher than 200% Strength only benefits the damage from [Savage Silence] and doesn't allow you to double dip on the returns. [Blind Rage] can be substituted over [Augur Secrets] which allows you to drop Growing Power and Power Drift but you should probably run it at rank 6 rather than max rank.

↔️ Alternate Playstyles ↔️

Most builds utilize tools that can be swapped out to serve the same purpose albeit in a different manner. The following suggestions are an outline and aren't exhaustive.

🔧 Mods 🔧

  • [Growing Power] isn't difficult to proc and allows the build to hit the 200% Strength breakpoint. It can be replaced on the Blind Rage variant for Brief Respite or whatever aura you prefer.
  • Power Drift also helps the build to hit the 200% Strength breakpoint but the same replacement rule applies on Blind Rage builds.
  • Augur Reach is a flex mod that can be replaced with whatever mod fits into the polarity plan.
  • [Rolling Guard] and additional shield gating can be slotted in to give this build additional survivability on harder content but the stun from Silence and operator mode should provide enough defensive options in this build.
  • [Savage Silence] needs to be on the build to make Marked for Death nuke enemies after the nerf. Without it the ability has far too much inconsistency.

⚙️ Arcanes ⚙️

Arcane Energize synergizes with high Efficiency or [Primed Flow] and allows you to be greedy with your ability casts. It can be replaced if you're confident with your energy economy or you're playing with an ally Warframe that provides energy. Offensive arcanes like Arcane [Fury] or defensive arcanes like Arcane Aegis are usually the call on most content.

Arcane Trickery synergizes with a Finisher focused build. The Marked for Death nerf hurt the general usability of the arcane but it still competes if you spam enough Finisher attacks. Replace it if you don't like the inconsistency. Tertiary offensive arcanes like Arcane Strike or defensive arcanes like Arcane Guardian are usually the call.

📋 Final Notes 📋

Sonar doesn't increase the damage of secondary effects like Slash procs or Toxin procs so the damage potential can be limited against some enemies. Spamming it enough times will eventually allow you outpace any enemy damage resistance scaling but at any point DE could change the secondary damage resistance formula to scale properly with damage buffs similar to Sonar.

Silence is a redundant stealth ability due to [Banshee]'s passive. After it was added as a Helminth ability many builds that use Silence are now better on other frames. If you're confused why a specific Silence interaction isn't being used it's most likely because the build has been moved to another frame that uses it better. Loadout slots are limited and putting the exact same gimmick build on multiple frames isn't suggested unless there's a good reason to run that frame instead such as Arbitration buffs or utilizing a specific ability interaction.

Marked for Death is a volatile ability that's already been hit with multiple changes from the developers. At any point this build may become obsolete.
