Atlas: Empower - Ore Gaze

Atlas Gameplay Guide

[Atlas] is a close range bruiser with a heavy focus on ability synergy. Landslide attempts to combine both damage and invincibility but requires a well made stat stick to scale to endgame content. His passive grants him decent survivability against mid level enemies and his other three abilities give a small amount of flexibility outside of the base star chart missions.

📝 Build Overview 📝

[Ore Gaze] allows [Atlas] to farm items from enemies that are susceptible to the petrification. The additional drop chance can go up to 100% with enough ability Strength. This build doesn't utilize the Arbitrations buff.

🔢 Helminth Options 🔢

Tectonics is arguably one of the worst abilities in the game. Standing behind it is more dangerous than spamming invincible Landslide punches and most enemies will either avoid or burst down the roadblock. It even needs an augment to [Protect] from multiple angles of attack. Replace it on every build.

Empower is used to boost ability Strength to 400% which benefits [Ore Gaze]. It's unnecessary if you're using multiple external sources of ability Strength but the build starts to become redundant in every way.

Other abilities aren't suggested as the build loses consistency. External sources of ability Strength make this build obsolete as there are several ways to reach the 400% breakpoint without ruining every other aspect of the build.

📊 Ability Stats 📊

Strength is boosted by sacrificing almost every other part of the build. There are a few options to round out other stats by utilizing flex mod slots.

Helminth Invigorations, Arbitration Buffs, Ally Abilities, Arcanes, and other external stat boosts can save you multiple mod slots but may rely on specific team compositions, loadouts, or sheer luck. Plan around these situations and modify your loadout to hit desired ability stat breakpoints.

⏲️ Duration ⏲️

Petrify doesn't need much Duration as we're utilizing the drop chance boost rather than the crowd control aspects. [Transient Fortitude] can be replaced by Energy Conversion if you're having issues with killing enemies before they escape the petrification.

⛽ Efficiency ⛽

[Blind Rage] drops the Efficiency by so much that we have to run Primed Flow to counteract it. It's highly suggested that you use external forms of energy regeneration.

📏 Range 📏

Range isn't touched as we can simply get closer to the enemy before casting Petrify. Against larger groups of enemies other abilities far outperform Ore Gaze but flex mods can be replaced with Stretch or Augur Reach if you're adamant on using this build instead.

💪 Strength 💪

Strength needs to hit a specific threshold of 400% to make [Ore Gaze] consistent. [Transient Fortitude] can be replaced by [Energy Conversion] or we can drop the rank of [Blind Rage] by one as the augment doesn't benefit from higher than 400% total Strength. It's highly advised that you use external Strength such as Pax Bolt, Power Drain, or other sources as this build is already packed with mods that grant massive diminishing returns.

↔️ Alternate Playstyles ↔️

Most builds utilize tools that can be swapped out to serve the same purpose albeit in a different manner. The following suggestions are an outline and aren't exhaustive.

🔧 Mods 🔧

  • [Growing Power], [Blind Rage], [Transient Fortitude], [Umbral Intensify], and any other mods that grant Strength can be replaced at your discretion. Ensure that you are near or above the 400% ability Strength threshold for Ore Gaze to have consistency in comparison to other looting abilities.
  • [Primed Sure Footed] is a powerful survival tool that completely negates many forms of hostile crowd control. It also allows weapons with a large area of effect to be fired with impunity. It's an expensive login reward so replace it if you have other forms of status effect immunity. Atlas's passive provides this benefit but only when you're on the ground.
  • Natural Talent is a flex mod if you're only using a few Petrify casts over a long period of time.
  • Augur Secrets is another weak ability Strength mod that can be replaced if you're using external source of Strength.
  • Ore Gaze is necessary for this build to functions. Other augments aren't suggested.

⚙️ Arcanes ⚙️

Arcane Energize pairs well with [Primed Flow] and allows you to be extremely greedy with your ability casts. It can be replaced if you're confident with your energy economy or you're playing with an ally Warframe that provides energy. Offensive arcanes like Arcane [Fury] or defensive arcanes like Arcane Aegis are usually the call on most content.

Arcane [Guardian] synergizes with the bruiser playstyle of most [Atlas] builds. It can be replaced if you're in need of additional damage. Tertiary offensive arcanes like Arcane Strike or Arcane Avenger are usually the call on most content.

📋 Final Notes 📋

Rubble can be gained quickly in several different ways. Using Petrify on groups and spamming Rumblers between each fight should keep you topped off on stacks.

Petrify adds a 50% damage vulnerability to susceptible enemies. This intentionally doesn't work against armored health types because it would grant an exponential damage increase due to the way resistances interact with armor. Enemies can't be more than 100% weak or 100% resistant to a damage type. This means that the enemies most susceptible to Petrify are unarmored and have average resistances to your primary damage type.

[Rumbled] and [Titanic Rumbler] are both bugged and don't correctly work for various reasons. [Rumbled] still allows you to take damage through the armor and [Titanic Rumbler] doesn't increase the damage even though the mod card says that it does. Both augments shouldn't be run until these issues are addressed.
