this is my build for the hound if you aren't going to armour strip yourself and you're playing at a level where armour strip is relevant i.e. EDA & ETA. Note if you are going to armour strip or you're just playing on base steel path i recommend swapping [Shattering Impact] for [Lasting Sting]. Additionally, if you are using nourish in your build i would build corrosive heat or blast toxin.

Pros and cons of elemental options:

viral heat is the best for damage and enables you to proc arcane hot shot on any frame. However, as nourish works on companions if you are using it the viral on this build becomes redundant (technically it's worse than redundant since it makes viral basically the only thing that'll proc).

Corrosive heat is a good middle ground if you are using nourish however if you mod arcane [Continuity] on your frame and are not using arcane hot shot the following is better

blast toxin is phenomenal for add clear and arcane impetus stacking since it will also proc corrosive when arcane [Continuity] is put on your frame.

why no crit Overframe says it adds loads of damage? due to the [Manifold Bond] and [Contagious Bond] combo status is king on companions and since hound weapons can't get high enough to trigger [Tenacious Bond] you are better of just going all in on status.
