Unkillable Slow Nova (compatible with Tanky Neutral and Fast builds)

This build is essentially a min-maxed version of this build by Taurael. I used his build to assist me in making this one. He is the only reason I was able to make this build, so please go check him out.

This is a tanky Slow Nova build. I like to call it unkillable due to it's over-the-top and almost unnecessary amount of tankiness.

It's designed to slow down all enemies around you with your fourth ability (Molecular Prime) by 75% while also increasing the damage they take from all sources but with an emphasis on keeping you alive in end-game content.

This is how it works:

  • Molecular Prime sends out a wave, slowly travelling outwards and coating all enemies it hits with antimatter. Depending on your ability strength, these units will be slowed down or sped up (see Fast Nova). Coated foes will also take 100% more damage and explode on death.
  • Ability range does not affect the wave. You can't change the wave's travel speed, so in order to increase its effective range, you need to pump up ability duration as much as possible (to keep it active and moving for a longer time).
  • You can achieve the maximum amount of 75% slow by modding 145% ability strength, but we have more than that as a biproduct of getting the additional health from having both Umbral Vitality and Umbral Intensify on.
  • Molecular Fission will - combined with your fourth ability - consistently recharge your Null Star (first ability) particles. This greatly improves your tankiness and survivability, since every active particle reduces incoming damage by an additional 5% - resulting in a permanent 90% damage reduction with all 18 particles active. The reduced range of this build further helps you keeping up this damage mitigation since the particles will only fly off seeking nearby targets when enemies are in very close proximity to you.

Exilus:

This build doesn't require a specific Exilus mod. Use whatever you'd like. I am using [Vigilante Pursuit] because I like tend to use the other Vigilante mods on my sentinel weapon and I enjoy adding the additional 5% chance to enhance critical hits.

Aura:

This build doesn't require a specific Aura mod. Use whatever you'd like. I used an Aura Forma since it enables me to use differently polarized auras for all three [Nova] builds. I prefer to use [Energy Siphon] or [Corrosive Projection] for this build, which both have a different polarity than the Aura mods I use in the other builds. If you don't have one or do not care about other builds that this build is meant to match with, feel free to skip it or use a different Aura mod.

Arcanes:

This build is meant to be tanky to the point of being overkill. Grace and [Guardian] are the obvious choices for this. If you don't mind losing some tankiness, use Energize or any other Arcanes you'd like. I personally use energy restores.

COMPATIBLE BUILDS - NEUTRAL TANK AND FAST NOVA:

  • If you don't want to slow down defense missions, bring a neutral build. You're still providing the damage bonus and explosions while avoiding that one guy raging about everything taking too long.
  • If you are doing some easy or lower level missions, bring a fast build. You can speed of the enemies and get done with your mission much faster. Works best with Defense missions.
