Shield Gating Grendel Gastro Build
Pros:
- High DPS with Extreme Range: You are the artillery.
- Area Denial: You want enemies to f*** off from a certain choke point? 10-second gas clouds—and they stack.
- Team Buffs: With this many buffs (Nourish and Roar), your team will absolutely like you.
- Eximus Killer: You want that Overguard gone? Done—along with the Eximus unit.
- Shield Gating: Spam Abilities for overshield and extended shield gate time(mr. pablo please don't fix).
Synergy:
- The build pairs well with Shade or Huras Kubrow for extra survivability, especially with the shield refresh mods from your pets.
- Give your pets viral damage and Duplex Bond and watch them stack the damage for you. They could even kill the unit and give you energy if you're lucky.
Problems:
- Low Starting Energy: You need to get energy at the start.
- Long Casting Time: Feast and Nourish take a considerable amount of time to finish, but as long as you're far, you're gonna be okay.
- Energy Reliant: It requires constant energy refill, especially with how Roar kills the enemy in your gut faster. You're gonna need either Arcane Energize or Equilibrium.
- Almost Squishy: It introduces you to shield gating. Since overshields (not Overguard) still add to the shield gate time as of the time I made this build, it's still very much viable for high-level content.
- Too Much Range: It goes farther than the 33m radius of Primed Animal Instinct.
Solutions:
- Don’t use Roar unless you really want that extra damage.
- Pay attention to your shields or use invisibility from companions.
- Replace Power Drift with Preparation or Primed Sure Footed as needed.
To Upgrade:
- Replace Equilibrium with a Tau-Forged Violet Shard for [Equilibrium], and the rest is up to you.
