Beginner-focused build for [Excalibur], improving core stats and combat efficiency.
Mod Substitutions
Each of the Gladiator Set Mods are considered flex slots, primarily being there to provide extra durability while you wait to acquire more potent or diverse mods to use. You can replace them at your discretion, swapping in Augur mods you might have (Augur Secrets & Augur Reach in particular) or other mods like Stretch or Steel Fiber.

Why use the Gladiator Mod Set?
[Excalibur]'s gameplay focuses on melee combat, in particular using his Slash Dash and [Exalted Blade]. The set mods on [Excalibur] will provide a decent boost to your melee weapons' damage potential (granting 30% Crit Chance for each combo multiplier, up to a maximum of 330% at 12x), and this boost can be improved further by adding more Gladiator mods to your melee weapons.
Do be aware, though, that the increased Crit Chance from the Gladiator Set Bonus only applies to the weapon the melee Gladiator mods are equipped on. If you have a [Skana] with two Gladiator mods equipped, but your [Exalted Blade] has all three, this build would provide the [Skana] with 50% Crit Chance per combo multiplier, while the [Exalted Blade] would gain 60%, to their respective maximums of 550% and 660%.
Wait, how are we getting 330% from 12x? Wouldn't that be 11x?
That's correct; but, your weapon is always at 1x Combo Multiplier by default, as the first step you [Reach] is 2x. So, while at max combo multiplier, the readout of 12x is a little misleading, and any mods or effects like the Gladiator Set Bonus which base their efficacy off of current Combo Multiplier are actually using your Combo Multiplier - 1.
