Raksa Kubrow Best Dog | General Use

General Use [Raksa Kubrow] build

The Raksa Kubrow is without a doubt the best dog in the game, sharing first place with the Huras if you make use of an invisibility ability slayer build.

Precept Mods positions matter?

Yes, they do. Companions have a priority list when it comes to activating abilities. Below is a picture to show the priority list. Basically you start highest priority in the upper left and then move your way down the priority list by going right. This means precept mods are put in the upper left column mod slots for every companion, in the order you want the companion to prioritize said precept mods. Thanks to the Simulcrum Warriors for having a picture on their companion builds.

Howl is Radial Blind and gives Crowd Control, and Protect is a Kubrow-only variant of Guardian, replenishing your shields and is good for survivability and shield-gating.

Calculated Redirection and Reinforced Bond give extra fire rate, good for DPS.

You can replace the following mods with whatever you want:

With the recent Companion 'rework' part 2, beasts can now actually kill Steel Path enemies. This means [Contagious Bond] and the Mecha Mod Set can let your companions nuke on their own. However, this only works on claw built for Damage Over Time. This is because companions are best built around DoT rather than raw damage and repeating strikes (companions are somewhat slow when it comes to attacking targets). Furthermore, [Contagious Bond] also works best with a grouping ability like Ensnare and Larva. The closer enemies are to each other, the more destruction is assured. So either use a grouping ability and a 330% elemental claw mod (obligatory for Corpus builds) or don't use [Contagious Bond] at all.

[Vicious Bond] is also more useful now in that companions attack much more frequently. They should be able to fully armor strip now if they don't die. Consider using it if you want to boost your companion's killing capabilities.

While still not as good as the Panzer's Viral Quills and Helstrum and Verglas, Synth Deconstruct may actually yield some OK results on non-Panzer beasts and non-Hounds now. Experiment to see if you find the performance acceptable.

Note that Duplex doesn't benefit and doesn't trigger Vicious and Seismic.

Regarding gaining the crit dmg buff from Tenacious Bond, there're 3 ways to do it.

  • Bite if it can raise the crit chance to 50% or above
  • Hunter Synergy requires a primary with a "minimum 133% crit chance after mods, which requires a base CC of 44% + Critical Delay without a Riven" (Ninjase 2023)
  • [Bite] and [Hunter Synergy], lets your primary have a crit chance lower than 133%, but it should still be decent

New claws

For when you play against the Corpus

Quick explanation: Magnetic Strike + Bell Ringer combo knocks enemies down and applies Impact Procs. Impact procs on enemies then also proc Magnetic. After 1-2 seconds or so, the Corpus shields completely deplete, and the shield-depletion will then proc Elec. That's Toxin+Elec DOT working together to kill even faster. Their HP seem to [Reach] about 50% or so before the shields fully deplete and Elec procs. Add Slash to the mix, and you have a 3 DOT combo. [Contagious Bond] and Mecha Overlod mod set bonus taken into account, and this combo spreads to other Corpus enemies and nukes them.

For Corpus Amalgam, it'll be faster to actually let the beast engage with the shields thru their weakness to Elec. This should result in a higher DPS or kill-time or whatever you want to call it.

NOTE that against non-Jupiter Corpus, if you wish to min-max and your companion has Impact or Slash as the default physical damage, you should use Disabling Conditioning so the beast can do Puncture damage that's 50% effective towards non-Jupiter Corpus enemies. If it already does Puncture damage, just use the mod anyway. DE has to buff the damage increase of [Maul].

A General Use build

NOTE that you can replace the two 60% dual stat elemental mods with just one 330% elemental mod to focus more on DoT than raw damage. Considering the slower attack speed of the beast companions, this may be more worth it. Heat and Elec would be the best choices, the second mod would be replaced with Bell Ringer, Cull the Weak (primer required), or one 60% dual stat mod for more damage and higher status chance.

With Cull the Weak

NOTE you NEED a primer for Cull the Weak to work on a non-Corpus build.
